Outside of being invited to a birthday party in 2021 where the theater was rented out, I haven't been out to the movies in about 10-12 years. How much is a ticket these days? I remember grabbing a matinee for $4.50 back in 2005 and the last matinee I saw was $6.50 (whatever year Rock of Ages, with Tom Cruise, came out).
While 40 movies for $50 sounds good on paper, how many "good" movies would we expect to see over the next 3 months? Could you actually get the value out of this deal? You'd probably need at least 4 "good" movies to break even? Maybe even make a day out of it and grab a bucket of popcorn and soda, catch the other 2 movies and get the most bang for buck?
It depends on what you want to see. To use this for imax or Dolby basically pays for itself in 2-3 movies. So it really only matters if you care about that theatrical experience and if there are movies you want to see. Seeing 4 movies in a good imax theater is worth it, but it's really if there are 4 movies to watch.
You just need to sign up and go a few minutes early to the box office/guest service area and refund your original ticket.
totally agree. I freakin love going to the movies but I'm on a long not going streak right now. They need to bring back Godzilla minus one minus color to get me back.
no one is going watch old re-released movies bro ..
re-released barely make a blip on box office earnings ,,
maybe big movies like star wars , titanic or avatar - but thats it

Old? This movie was 2 months ago, Haha. And dude, many old school re-releases do huge business.
in USA box office earnings .. godzilla made only 56 million (in 8 weeks at the box office)

So 2 months at full price.
You can cancel after a month but they will not let you sign up again for two more months
If you cancel anytime, even after the three months, they won't let you sign up again for like 6 months.
This might have changed since movies have been so bad lately.
But if you cancel after signing up, the cancel date is three months later, not one month.
From their website:
A three-month commitment is required. Discount applies to first month only and will appear during checkout on the 'Confirm Purchase' screen.
Movie theaters are dying. I hate to say it. I remember when the bigger movie theater in town had a ton of people working concessions and cleaning on a weekend. I have a refillable popcorn bucket and go in every Friday now. The managers are running concessions and like one regular employee is assisting them. It's so depressing. The owner of the chain seemed like a fun guy who loved his movies. I know he's rich, but it's sad to see his dream fizzle away like this.
I would think millions wasted. We watch movies at home now.
After checking it looks like it is open but when you drive by you would never know it.

Who cares if they won't let you sign up again for 6mo? 1 month for .99 cents sounds good. Make a new account if you really want to sign up again.

The really gross part is seeing trash bags over urinals in the bathrooms. Just pure class there. The place really ought to be condemned.
I saw your theater. Didn't see any relatively newer pictures but saw all the complaints about the dent in the Dolby screen. Disgraceful.
American culture is becoming more and more feral. I don't think these people are doing this intentionally, it's just that they have grown up without being potty trained for society. Same with losers who blast music or YouTube or phone calls without a headset and/or making everyone hear their conversation in restaurants and other intimate spaces.
So many commercial American movies are trite and predictable anyway, seems that's why gimmicks like flashy special effects with no point, franchises, etc. are brought in to make up for the fact art is slowly strangled to death by capital resulting in empty images without meaningful story. And always a damn happy ending, so boring and rarely do you leave a theatre with any lasting impact. Junk food eaten on a dirty curb is more nutritious to the soul.
Rant off. If I'm reading this correctly, this is a $51 cost to see nearly any movies you want over 90 days. If it covers IMAX and your local theatre has a good selection that changes often, I can seeing this as slick (as long as you can deal with all the feral patrons).
Heck, if I were homeless I'd say $51 total to have a climate controlled comfortable seat available to me at least 12 hours a day for 90 days is probably the slickest deal here. That's 56 cents per day for shelter, with optional leftover free food to be had- or just buy an everlasting popcorn bucket.
The US is corrupted by its obsession with money. The people here descended from immigrants from peasant backgrounds and have zero experience running a country. It's why so many of them think everything should be a free-for-all. They are inexperienced and ignorant of the consequences of this.
I loved Texas and Oklahoma though. The teens were so respectful there, at least the OKC/Dallas parts. Tulsa reminded me a lot of dysfunctional Midwestern states, I hated it. OKC, Dallas, people are polite, respectful, generally just enjoyed being around them. Can't say the same for many Midwestern states. Don't care for people in the South east of Texas/Oklahoma though but Florida is cool once you get out of the Northern part. Some kid moved from Vegas and he said he hated the people in Henderson. Despised them. I can see that though.
The AMC in Times Square in Manhattan is basically a homeless shelter, unfortunately, based on the last time I went pre-COVID. 95% of the theater is homeless during the day. It's ridiculous.
