Agreed, price on the 760 is nice. $225+tax free ship is pretty great and this is plenty for many users.
For those that run an external amp
I have both. The Onkyo has slightly better power output, far better GUI, and web console configuration that makes it super easy to setup. The Denon has better sound quality for music, but lower volume output, and CEC handling isn't great (turn it off).
If you need more wattage output, go with the Onkyo if there is a deal at Costco (easy to return). If you want bang for the buck, the Denon at this price is hard to beat. I picked up a refurb during the last sale at $209, and it came well packaged, but the front display did have a few scratches, but the unit itself worked fine. YMMV when it comes to the condition of the refurbished unit, but I'll take a few scratches to get the deal.

Let this sit overnight on Friday and woke up Saturday to see the price went up to $399. Looking for something with specs like this to upgrade a budget 5.1 home theater setup with an aging 20-year-old Pioneer receiver that lacks HDMI inputs(!). With the 25% off, is this still a decent enough deal at $300 + tax and free shipping? Odds that it might drop back down again? (Though it might just disappear altogether!) Or am I better off waiting to catch a good open-box deal at Best Buy, a Costco sale, etc.? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I dunno about yours but i got mine, worked for a few days, then worked sporadically after restarting a few times and now it's just dead, zero output on any speakers. Never buyin Denon refurbished again. So dissappointing...
This is probably why all these are refurbished. They work sporadically. They probably go back to the bench, work "at the time" and then resold. I've reset mine, did everything and then, somehow it works. then you turn it off and on and nothing works anymore.

They have a one year warranty right? Anyone have an experience getting a refurb repaired?

Yeah, 1 year warranty, but do i want another one that's just gonna break down again? i already initiated an rma. I guess i gotta spend more money on something that's more reliable.
