I got the same error and figured out how to get around it. Don't use the links above. Login to Metro with your phone line and PIN. Then, go to Phones & devices >> Tablets & devices. I was then able to select the Samsung tablet and added a line and paid $20. Hope this helps you out.

Turn OFF RAM plus under Decice Care-> Memory
ENABLE "Reduce transparency and blue" under Accessibility--> Vision enhancement

This sped up my tablet a lot.

EDIT: A7 lite
Just to clarify, enabling the transparency/blue feature speeds it up? Seems counterintuitive, so just wanna make sure

I've had both tablets- slow as molasses both- all the tablets Metro carries in fact. And the tablet plan used to be cheaper.

Samsung A7 Lite: steps to make it more responsive and fast-feeling.

[1] Turn off RAM plus under Device Care->Memory.
[2] ENABLE "Reduce transparency and blue" under Accessibility--> Vision enhancement
[3] ENABLE Developer Mode: disable all the animation

[4] Activate table on metro SIM and download Android 14 (UI 6.0)

First two steps, thanks to the other poster.

Is one noticeably slower than the other?

You need to go online and check your account to activate it or simply call them and they will activate that for you.

Did anyone else receive their tablet without the SIM card? Triple checked the package, definitely no SIM card inside...

I'm unable to activate the tablet. I received it yesterday. And set it up on WiFi. But the account has activate shaded and their site still thinks I haven't received it but ups shows I got it.

How do I get it activated?

I received it in a white envelope. In the past, they sent it in brown (maybe stuck at bottom or side of the box).

If you're 100% sure, then just use it on a WiFi-only tablet. I am not sure calling them will resolve anything apart from asking you to visit the store, and they will charge you.
Also, check your order status to see whether the activate button is blue or gray.

The option is called "reduce transparency and blue" so when you turn that on then you are lowering/disabling it
