The tablet requires that you insert sim to activate..weird!! Are you all seeing the same?
You can bypass that by tapping four corners from top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left, do it for two more time in the same order, so total 12 tap, then press volume down, after that you will able to connect to wifi and set up without SIM.
Yes. All the Metro tablets slow as molasses, irregardless of brand. LG was the only semi decent one they ever had.
Thanks in advance

It seems you can add CA/MX roaming service on it or you can swap the SIM to your phone (by updating IMEI) to add CA/MX roaming service for it
I also got activation emails after. Didn't get one when it was delivered. I neglected to check the account before my month was up on the phone, and now it says I owe $20 and account is disabled.
So unsure what exactly the status of tablet is. But it was working on 4G after I got signed in originally. Must be ok (?)
It's really slow. Every Samsung tab I've had other than S tabs have been pretty bad. Oh well. $20. Worth a shot š

I also noticed they had an option for a one time 30 day waiver for not being current. Thought about trying it but I'd rather end up with this tablet 'useless' than pay another $40 (or even $20)
Just make sure you make changes outline in this thread otherwise you might feel tablet is sluggish. Please don't bring expensive ipad level expectation.

If this works out, it may be worth finding these and buying those if they're >6mo old, so you can have an unlocked tablet off the bat. Mine only cost $55 which is nearly the same as a month of phone and tablet service.
I'm thinking about buying one from eBay too, but only if it's unlocked. I'm personally fine paying slightly more than Metro's price if I can avoid the headache of dealing with Metro.
