I work on animations alot.
I'll try. This 12-core CPU is made up of two chiplets (6 cores each). Only one of those chiplets has access to the 3D V-Cache. Some games or programs benefit from running on the cores with the added cache and some don't (it may even hurt performance.)
The scheduling issue is when your OS assigns those programs to cores that wouldn't perform as well. I don't know if the issues have been fixed in a hand-off manner, I do know as of recently you can assign certain programs to run on certain cores.
The consensus before that was to buy the 8 core 7800X3D for pure gaming since it has all 8 cores on one chiplet with access to the 3D V-Cache and games tend to benefit from it. Or buy the 16 core 7950X3D for mixed gaming and productivity (video editing, file archiving, etc) since it offers 8 cores on one chiplet with 3D V-Cache and 8 cores on another without as opposed to the 12 core 7900X3D which only offers 6 cores on each chiplet.

I see. I would love to know the answer to that too. It's kinda funny because I actually wasn't aware of the scheduling issues due to 3D V-Cache allocation until these sales started popping up. I started looking into it after someone made the same claim on another forum and never got an answer.
