From what I've seen, whomever handles clearance items for that store needs to adjust it in the system. There was a deal on here last month for a Ryobi miter saw on clearance for $108. My store was marked clearance on Brickseek but it rang up full price at the register. Flash forward a week or two, and then I noticed the clearance tags on the aisle next to the item. So even though that item was marked clearance on Brickseek, a worker needed to change the store price for it truly be clearance. Hopefully this was helpful, I would go back next week and check again. Good luck
Thanks for the data point. That makes sense.
One other question - using the automated store specific price checker (accessed by saying "price check" or something similar to the automated Home Depot voice that greets you when you call the store, and then entering the internet number with the phone keypad) — seems to be hit or miss. I tested it on items I know are marked down and in store, and it most of the time gives me the wrong, non-marked down price. However, some times the automated price checker is accurate, but less so than when it is not accurate.
Does anybody know how the automated price checker works and why sometimes it is accurate for clearance prices and sometimes it is not? I have yet to find the pattern… it sure would save a lot of time
Here is another example with a Ridgid finish nailer that shows "clearance" at a lot of places , for about 3 weeks as far as I know, but has not yet been marked down when I checked this past Monday…. Seems it is forgotten or not in the clearance scope… but someone somewhere must have triggered the "clearance" label (determined by corporate for skus that sit unsold for too long, is my guess?)…

It seems like your store's clearance person is not thoroughly checking the SKUs. That's unfortunate.
I can't help with the automated system, as I have never used it. I honestly just trust the feedback here for actual prices because some stores will get lazy and slap a tag on an item and then that starts the window for that item to decrease. It usually goes down once or twice depending on how long it has been on clearance. Most stores around me have the original clearance tag on the item but if you go up to the register and scan it, it will be less than the tag. It's a mystery

This example is actually the same case at 3 different stores I checked… all 3 stores have it marked and designated as clearance but still same original price…. Seems crazy that all 3 stores have lazy clearance markers on some items but not on others, but maybe 🤷 ♂️
