Correct! It's more common for them to cancel orders vs. finding a substitute! That's why I suggested going to the store and finding either the original item (it might actually be there) or finding a substitute and then place the order from the store (and actually bring the item to the front of the store). It's unfortunate that you'll be doing their work for them, but at least you'll leave there with something vs. nothing (hopefully). Just make sure that you check off "any brand" before you place the order. In this case, the 500 Q-tips brand is likely available and a better option.

It may specify "unavailable" at a particular store but you need to search other stores in your area (if they exist). Use the "only this item" option. If you can find one (or more, if you desire), place the order...but check off "any brand" on the substitutions page and type in "Please substitute with Q-tips brand - 500 count". This way, if they're actually paying attention, you'll get the better of the two (if that's what you prefer). The regular sticks are far better than the plastic sticks and I'd question the quality of the Walgreens brand for this item (IMO).
It doesn't specify that this is a "clearance" item. It's frequently either an overstock situation or a change in packaging design (or both) that drops the price drastically like this.
