Bought it and returned it after it was on sale for this price last month with a coupon. It has plenty of power but it's larger than I expected and the button position is very awkward to use in the straight position. Not saying it's bad cordless screw driver, but it wasn't ergonomic for my use.
It's awkward and definition of non ergo. Not compact at all.

Just because project farm recommended it the first time doesn't mean it's gonna be everyone's cup of tea.

The Milwaukee, Hercules scored "higher" on the most recent episode. I'm leaning towards returning this and getting the Milwaukee brushed because of the variable trigger, familiar ergo and the fact I already have m12 batteries.

I have 3 of these and they are the best for computer repair, rc repair, and nerf. The clutch is soft enough to not strip anything. I may be tempted for a fourth just to have upstairs.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the Arrma Granite BLX 3S deal delivering this week so working on RC cars is a good excuse to buy this. What bits do you use for RC maintenance?

That's exactly what I was thinking but I find it strange since the Metabo came out pretty bad, even versus cheaper than $50 options like the Vastar he mentioned.

My personal takeaway from the video is to just not bother with one. I'd rather get a small pen one if I were to get a screwdriver since it's compact, something that makes it uniquely good for a specific use case. If I want a good screwdriver, rather spend to get a quality impact driver or drill. Or the Milwaukee $50 tool only one on sale if you already have Milwaukee stuff.

lol i too watched the same PF video yesterday.

I got the milwaukee which looks like its discontinued (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012BA1M8/) back in 2009 for $50 and it's one of the best screwdriver ever! still going strong!

similar ergonomics and I have had no problems using it, in fact I like it better than the trigger being below.

i own the hitachi version of this and can vouch its awesome (esp compared to the ryobi lithium screwdriver). the ryobi is a pos and so weak, it stalls on most easy jobs (that the hitachi can handle with ease)

Honestly for lightweight use, I think the SKIL deal for $19 is the better value. About the same weight, rechargeable with USB-C, and much shorter. Don't have to worry about these batteries I would have no other use for, and for real jobs I'll use my Dewalt. If you can only have one, this is the better investment, but if you already have real drivers and want a compact version for light jobs around the house, go with the SKIL.

yes, very much so. I've installed a full closet of Ikea with one charge. You just need the right hex bit for some of those screws.

I have one upstairs and downstairs. The first one was Hitachi branded, and served well for many years and weekly use, until the switch stopped working in the forward direction (about 5 years old at that point, it was pretty beat up by then). There was an authorized repair shop nearby and it was repaired under the lifetime warranty without issues. I bought the second one that was Metabo branded as a refurb for about if not a bit more than this price as I found that deal before taking my first for service. The project farm video is very accurate, though I'd nitpick minorly that the ergonomics are not as bad as was stated there, but I'd only change his rating on that topic by a single point. If you are interested, I'd watch the Project Farm video others have linked to, as it is very good. You will see the more powerful screwdrivers are a bit heftier than this one, and are all of a different form factor - once you hit that form factor a 12v impact driver may be better unless you need the torque control. The biggest plusses for me is the bit holder, swappable battery (you get two!), massively configurable clutch, and the form factor. No issues with drilling pilot holes in pine, and makes handling installing drywall anchors while standing on a ladder a breeze. $50 is a steal for what you get.

I have one other battery based screwdriver that was one of those holiday specials that has a really thin form factor but very little torque - I use it so little that I need to charge it before use. For pretty much all other purposes, if this does not handle the job, a 12v impact driver is not overkill.

Exactly I rather use my m12 impact the size is almost the same, I don't get the point of a cordless screwdriver if it's almost the size of an impact… it's confused if it wants to be an impact or a screwdriver. Less power is the sacrifice for more convenient size though

I had and lost the Hitachi version. Best screwdriver ever in the world. Way better than my pathetic Worx I thought might replace it. Not a chance. Thx, Op.
