I had to install their driver software for this to work natively on Windows 11. Not a huge fan of needing to use some 3rd party chinese driver software (that has to stay installed and running) just to use a USB wifi card.
A lot of USB wifi devices can easily use the generic realtek or broadcom drivers included with windows. I don't like the security implications of having to trust a third party software that's always running and could easily harvest info from your machine without you knowing. This is especially true for a brand that either manufactures or uses white label parts for all manner of electronics from wifi cards to battery packs. I would be less apprehensive if this software requirement was the case for something from Netgear or Ubiquiti because they have a brand reputation to lose for bundling nefarious software.
For me I want a stick I can put in a Linux or Win machine for almost instant connection for diagnosis, if I am using one there is a really good chance I won't be able to download anything. I have a different one I use sparingly for my TV and when I need it for testing it is nothing to plug and play in a machine without internet. No need to get a driver from the internet that I don't seem to have or find a jump drive, and boot a 2nd machine with the driver, find the driver, transfer the driver, install the driver.

I pay for plug and play.

Does this work with Linux?
Some of the German reviews say it does. I bought one based on that.

Looks like both the eBay one and the Amazon are Realtek 8812BU. Searching the word linux on Amazon comes up with a Ugreen answer to a Q about Linux Lite 32 bit that kernel 2.6.24-5.11 is compatible. A review by Hadar Pedhazur in the United States on November 12, 2022 got it to work with Arch Linux.
To add to this, FWIW, "lsusb" on my system (Fedora 37) reports the AC1300 device as:

"ID 0bda:b812 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL88x2bu [AC1200 Techkey]"

so I'm going to guess it's the same as the TechKey dongle but in a more rectangular shape :-)

"lsmod" reports:

rtw88_8822bu 12288 0
rtw88_usb 28672 1 rtw88_8822bu
rtw88_8822b 229376 1 rtw88_8822bu
rtw88_core 249856 2 rtw88_usb,rtw88_8822b
mac80211 1572864 2 rtw88_core,rtw88_usb
cfg80211 1335296 2 rtw88_core,mac80211

and the drivers were included along wih the kernel, so there was no need to go hunting for source code to build them.

I'm using it now, connected at 5GHz, to post this.

Got me curious to do another search as I may actually own the Techkey, some good info here: https://github.com/morrownr/USB-W...el-62-2023

this works with default network drivers both in recent linux and windows.
no additional software required.

i am getting around 280mbps on a 5GHz ac network, where as my AX200 get about 430 mbps.

not bad for 10 dollars.

AC1300 code not valid. Dead??

EDIT: there is an error in the code that is automatically copied. Manually entered "33EBS6YT" and it worked.

Thanks for the tip. Why would I want something that can't run immediately when there are plenty of options that do?
