i have been using my comma 3 since christmas of 2021. over 90,000 miles on it and i love it. this is for the newer comma 3x.

i have it on my 2020 Lexus UX250h and my 2022 RX450H

it takes driving to level 2 autonomous driving.

it will keep you in lane without having hands on the wheel.
it will keep you in lane when you are braking
it will keep you in lane during stop and go traffic.

it will do stop and go traffic. you can have both hands on a big mac in traffic and the car will start and stop.

FYI i bought mine when it was $2500 plus 200 for the cable. $1050 right now is cheap AF.

There are clones out there but i read constantly of failures. mine has worked flawlessly.
I run sunny pilot fork.

You dont need to drive a lot to need this or appreciate this device. its one of those things, once you have it and use it you'll never want to go back LOL.

Unfortunately, my car is not compatible, but I'm glad that original jailbreaker Geohot's invention reached SD/mainstream.

Just FYI, Comma can do things other OEM lane keep devices can't because they don't have to take responsibility for what happens. They are sold as a development kit and user has to take the responsibility for installing the software. If anything happens it's on you.

Was thinking the same. Looks like a really cool device but the name could have been a little more brainstormed. Wait, may be it was too late for that...

Has anyone here actually used this?
Every day, in two vehicles, for the last 4 years. It's great, especially at this price. You need to set expectations accurately, it's not level4, but it makes driving chill.

I'm wondering if insurance can deny a claim (especially liability claims) if this is installed.
If you have a lot to lose, might not be worth the risk.

Have been using Comma 3X for 30k miles and it is a godsend on my commute and longer car rides.

I bought for higher price but totally worth it.

It has alleviated a lot of stress on car rides, people be driving crazy these days and this allows you to be safer and not get road rage.

No - but you as the driver can get into an accident.

The key here is that this is a driving assist device. You as the driver behind the wheel needs to maintain control. At all times.

exactly what i expected. the youtube videos ive seen look really sketchy for anything but fully alert completely focused driving. theyre taking no responsibility because this product is dangerous to anyone who is already a distracted driver and thinks this is their answer.
Do you really think small start up can take on that kind of liability when even big car companies won't.

Doh! If this thing was more compatible with older vehicles. Like say, cars older than 15 to 20+ years ago, it'd be revolutionary. But most newer cars offer this type of tech standard already. Help me understand why would I buy this thing?
I have an 2019 Odyssey. the built-in system i wouldn't trust it to take a turn on the HW or even keep you in the lane. but withe Comma ai, it keeps a constant lane tracing and keep speed and make turns for me. I have take 10hrs long trips and i barely need to take over unless there is a sharp turn on the HW. this is a limitation of the Honda system. check these videos below to see the huge difference

Just like Tesla who disengages there's just as you crash so your responsible or did you not read the fine print, just like all the steering assists are supposed to be fully attentive drivers

yup, it works amazing on divided highway. It's best used where you would normally use cruise control.

How is this helpful in city driving with Hyundai palisades? It already has adaptive cruise control for freeways that I love. Is it worth getting this on top of what standard palisades have?
I don't get the appeal of these auto driving systems in city driving (and I own one of these and LOVE it on the highway). I just don't see the payoff for city driving.

Adaptive cruise is garbage compared to Comma. Yes it's very worth it.
If you don't want wheel nag, Comma is what you should be using. City driving is so-so, but that's with most other OEM adas systems, but highway is what it's made for.

I have had c3x since release on Lexus es. and a c3 clone on a older Mazda cx9. They work great. If you only drive winding canyons or 10min trips in the city, I would say this wouldn't help you much. It's absolutely a game changer for highway commutes. I would take c3x at this price over the clones, especially since this has can-fd support built in for newer cars. Also slightly less fan noise
