i have been using my comma 3 since christmas of 2021. over 90,000 miles on it and i love it. this is for the newer comma 3x.

i have it on my 2020 Lexus UX250h and my 2022 RX450H

it takes driving to level 2 autonomous driving.

it will keep you in lane without having hands on the wheel.
it will keep you in lane when you are braking
it will keep you in lane during stop and go traffic.

it will do stop and go traffic. you can have both hands on a big mac in traffic and the car will start and stop.

FYI i bought mine when it was $2500 plus 200 for the cable. $1050 right now is cheap AF.

There are clones out there but i read constantly of failures. mine has worked flawlessly.
I run sunny pilot fork.

You dont need to drive a lot to need this or appreciate this device. its one of those things, once you have it and use it you'll never want to go back LOL.

Unfortunately, my car is not compatible, but I'm glad that original jailbreaker Geohot's invention reached SD/mainstream.

Just FYI, Comma can do things other OEM lane keep devices can't because they don't have to take responsibility for what happens. They are sold as a development kit and user has to take the responsibility for installing the software. If anything happens it's on you.

Just another comment to say I love OpenPilot! Been using it for years, first on an EON and now C2.

Be careful if you're new to this but it's great!

Any plans to add tesla in the near future?
You can use it on Tesla S/X with a custom fork. They're working on getting it compatible with 3/Y.

Lol, yes it is. It's not better than FSD but definitely better than autopilot.
I agree. I actually did not trust using Tesla AP at all. I've rented a few Teslas and I never use AP because it just isn't as good as this. It was very inconsistent. I use my Comma all the time and I've never had a problem with it. I suspect anyone saying otherwise has never used a Comma3.

I have one. They are fantastic. I've driven Tesla autopilot equipped cars and I think this device is superior. I have a Kia Telluride. Each car is different. The software is open source so there are several different forks available. Some are better for certain makes than others.
I have a 2020 Telluride. What will this give me over the built in HDA?

Just another endorsement for this product. I am still using my Comma 2 from almost 4 years ago. Installed on a Corolla originally and now an Avalon. This thing makes road trips sooo much nicer. I think it drives better than I do when it's dark and rainy.

How is this helpful in city driving with Hyundai palisades? It already has adaptive cruise control for freeways that I love. Is it worth getting this on top of what standard palisades have?
Palisade is the same as a Kia Telluride (which I own). This thing blows the doors off the Hyundai / Kia system. It still uses the adaptive CC but it basically drives your car. You don't even have to hold the steering wheel. It will do stop and go traffic to a dead stop. And will resume driving when the car in front of you pulls away. Basically you set the speed you want and it drives. Some of the forks recognize stop lights and stop signs. They are working on end to end driving with navigation as well.

It's far superior. No need to hold wheel. It literally drives the vehicle for you. It's lane keeping is miles ahead of the Kia system. Once you get one you won't go back. I do a 240 mile round trip highway drive, every other weekend, and I set it and relax. It's that good.

I don't see Clarity in the harness selection, which one did you use for your car?
The discord comma_clarity group has a guy who builds the harness for the car. With the harness and proxy board makes it run great. I'm in LA traffic for 2 hours a day i'm running 90% of my ride with openpilot in command.

I have had c3x since release on Lexus es. and a c3 clone on a older Mazda cx9. They work great. If you only drive winding canyons or 10min trips in the city, I would say this wouldn't help you much. It's absolutely a game changer for highway commutes. I would take c3x at this price over the clones, especially since this has can-fd support built in for newer cars. Also slightly less fan noise
How well did it work for Mazda? I have CX5 I am told it doesn't have traffic light recognition and stop light support (which is experimental anyway)

For Mazda you'll want to join the MoreTorque discord channel. You'll want to buy TI (torque intercepter) at the very least, and possibly RI (radar interceptor). I suspect within the next few months there may be partial support for some of those experimental features. Since TI has a fork of another fork (frogpilot) now, mazda supports always on lateral and navigate on openpilot.

Because manufacturers don't want a 3rd party device hijacking the steering, acceleration and braking of their cars. Toyota added a security feature to prevent this kind of hack in newer vehicles.
Pretty sure geohot can get around that , they are looking votes in 100$ donations, if more people request they may crack the encryption it won't be any harder than jailbreak lol

Mercedes uses flexray. Different communication protocol than most of the asian and american cars.
