not a bad deal however if you wait three to four weeks samsungs new line up will be online and with EDU can get good discounts right off the bat!
has this been like this in the past? How do you know that the prices would be good for 77"? Anything under $2k is a good deal.

No, minor improvements. And it will be many months before decent discounts on new lines.

maybe not $1800 but perhaps a few hundred more! samsung has always been known to discount brand new models initially to boost sales.

The popular cashback site is up to 5% for TV's and home theater at Samsung.com.

I chatted with the rep and supposedly the 10% applies to the 83" or the S95C version only.

If you take the 2yr protection plan into the account that'd make this a better deal. BB at $1960 vs. this at $1769, around 10% less.

I also personally like the Samsung no fees 0% APR financing for 24mo.

I mean Best Buy will offer you the same 24 months. No interest financing and you can get 10% off your order if it's your first when you sign up for their credit card.

I'm pretty sure the only warranty that covers burn in is the best buy one also. For what it's worth i have this TV connected to my pc and often leave it on a YouTube page or whatever for hours and there's no sign of burn in yet. I've only had it about 6 months but I've probably done more that would cause burn in than most people would in many years.

I have 10,000 hours on a LG G2 and I have abused the crap out of it. Literally leaving it on 24/7 for weeks at a time and even ignoring the messages asking me to turn it off to refresh the pixels.

I've even had it freeze overnight on a picture and have that on for 8 or more hours in a row. Many many times.

I game on it. I use it for PC. I mean I don't think it can get much worse.

And I have zero signs of burn in.

I absolutely know burn in is a real thing or at least WAS because I got it on my 2016 OLED after only 6 months and just playing a single game I had its HUD Bar burned in anytime the screen was solid red I could see it.

But after that my 2019, 2022, and 2023 oleds have all been solid without issues and all played the same game just as much or more and for years...all still used daily in my home (retired older models to others in the house / other rooms) and all still look great!

After you receive the TV, chat with a rep and say that you are thinking about returning the TV. They gave me a $200 refund to keep it. So I had the price mentioned in the op, 3% from amex and another 5% from a cb site. They did not have the free mounting at the time of purchase.

I have read some horror stories about the additional mounting services from the different stores who offer them cheap.

I paid $450 to get mine mounted by a company that specializes in home theaters. Mine was being mounted on brick and there was literally 4 inches total free space between the mantel and ceiling. Yes, mine is above a fireplace and is r/tvtoohigh.

This deal does not apply to the S90C 77" model anymore. I just had a chat with a rep and he told me they have deactivated all promo codes for this TV. But it is working for the other sizes of S90C and all the S95C.

S95D is going to have a mate finish to improve reflection. The theory is they are doing this because one of Samsung's best selling OLEDs is the Frame which has a mate finish. Samsung is trying to replicate that success with the S95D. The S90D will not have the mate finish though.

Both the S90D and S95D will have new 3rd Gen QD-OLED panels which will be brighter than the S90C and have better burn-in resistance.

The other thing that is being pushed as a big improvement is the AI image processor. Supposedly is Gen 2 of the Quatum Neural Processor. It has the same amount of Neural Networks (20) but supposedly Samsung is trying to compete with Sony XR Clear and that this processor will get closer to that. I doubt it though. Sony is Quatum leaps ahead in that area. I'm guessing the processor is just the same architecture used for the S90C but maybe has higher clock speeds and got trained with the same image database being used for the Galaxy S24 camera image processor that guesses what your are taking a picture of and tries to recreate it when you zoom in. That image processor also promises better motion processing.

I my opinion I doubt this will be a significant difference between the S90C and S90D. If you can wait till November for a similar deal on the S90D I would say go ahead and wait. But I wouldn't pay extra for the S90D.

I think the next big thing coming will be micro LED TVs, specially if they can make them really bright.

Was on sale for $129 before. I have it, my only issue is that one of the extension arms is looser than the other, so when I try to push it all the way, the one side doesn't stick. I don't have it all the way on the wall generally, so not a big deal for me.
