You don't have to be samsung employee. It's called EPP which is available to many employers. You can sign up for AAA and get same discount.

Check your employer deals & discounts hub as well. I work for a major airline and I'm able to see this price in the cart with creating an account under my work email!

Does anyone know how many dimming zones there are? People say it is just similar to regular LED TV with almost no local dimming

Ok. The rting review on the similar model says there is just NO local dimming, so it is just a regular LED TV with fancy naming.

I have UN65NU740D from 2018, bought from Costco ($879 in 2018 dollars). Screen took a toy hit and now has 3" blank spot lines.

That brings me in the market for a TV.

I appreciate good PQ but can't really differentiate between 120/60 etc.

Compared to UN65 model, if I were to buy CU65 ($400 at BB) or QN70 (in this deal), would I be
- Downgrading
- Upgrading
- Stay same

Any insights are appreciated!

I ordered this. Should be good enough for my uses and seems like a good deal for a decent 70" TV. Replacing a 2016ish 65inch Vizio that started intermittently turning off recently. Not looking for the best obviously, but for cost to performance in this range, this seems solid. Thanks for posting.

Again, I can't agree but that's ok. Correct me if I'm wrong but 60hz is more than enough because most movies and television shows aren't filmed at higher frame rates. In fact, 60 fps is rare let alone 120 fps. Most theaters run projectors that are much slower than 120 fps.

This TV also has VRR which is a variable refresh rate.

Even for the PS5, the majority of the games released run only on 60hz. There are only about 100 games on the ps5 that run at 120hz.

Some guys seem to get all spec crazy while most of us bipeds aren't gonna really notice too much variability. You see this in the computer world as well. It's a bit of a dick wagging contest it seems. Go with what you think looks good and is functional and within your budget.

Thank you, I ordered it last night.

I will have opportunity to play same content (Prime, Hulu … no gaming) side by side and see difference.

My bar is low - I want same PQ as that of 2018 tv which had up scaled 120 rate and I think I am going to get that PQ with this one.

As an SDer, FOR ME, getting a deal and keeping it in budget was more important than plonking $2k on a top of the line tv. I spend money other ways like buying Red Wing shoes for $400 which others may find unappealing.
