These are in the 40 cents/cell range, a SD is in the 20 cents/cell range IMO, granted the MAX cells are a great product and worth more, but not that much more.

Seems like a good deal as long as they don't arrive with one week left before the expiry date

Does this happen a lot with 10-year shelf life batteries?

Ah good point ! But note that they only claim these batteries will last "UP TO" 10 years on the shelf— that is like the sales you see here that claim "up to 70% off." When sellers say "up to" —that is not the same as saying every unit sold will meet that claim. So I doubt the BIUB date is 10 years from the date of manufacture or they would just say that. Also the BIUB date suggests the date by which the battery should operate at 100% charge and that again is not the same as simply claiming it will still function at some level in 10 years. I ordered these so I will find out. Since it's Amazon it will be 9 to 11 days with Prime shipping.

Seems a great deal at 40¢ per battery.

If it wasn't for the Micro Center $1 per 8-pack, I'd be all over this.

Sorry, I was looking at the 32-Count links. You are right, the 48-Count does say Max.

How do these compare to the Energizer ultimate lithium batteries that were a recent SD?

Lithium batteries are better for high power use devices or long term storage. They're also way more expensive.

The same amount of lithium disposables would be like $80+?

I'm seeing 13.83 for 48 Amazon Basics AA ($0.29/ea) vs $10.80 for 32 Energizer ($0.34/ea). Are the Energizers worth the extra nickel?
