Amazon is getting better at locking down their ecosystem.
We're not getting Amazon tablets anymore. Will switch to either Samsung, Lenovo, or Walmart.
this Amazon tablet has Widevine L1 which means 1080p streaming.

yes better than 480p
you can still trade in an ancient fire tablet, but may only get $5.
i'd say list it at $76 or less, not $56.
Sure, the front camera on this newer device is 5 MP instead of 2 MP, but my older HD 10 Plus still has 4 GB of RAM instead of three and has a marginally slower 8-core processor and basically the same graphics performance.
I can't deny the lower weight is a big plus, but that means I would have to buy a new $30+ case if I were to buy this new tablet. Anyone else know if previous-gen cases fit this tablet?
Plus, based on my experience with the Fire HD 11 Max I have doubts that the Amazon Fire Toolbox will work on this tablet due to software changes that the Fire HD 11 Max has that kill AFT.
Meanwhile, AFT works swimmingly on my previous-generation Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 10+.

someone earlier said they use tooolbox with 2023 model. I have a 2021 plus also but the reviews show that the 2023 is significantly faster

Rooting the device is out of the question. There are a handful of people still poking at it, but interest in rooting the device has tapered off since Amazon locked pretty much every last workaround down.
- Adding Google Play is a cat and mouse game with Amazon.
- Only 3GB RAM and with Amazon apps taking up both RAM and storage.

Spend a little more and get a real tablet with working Play Store and 4GB.
