This has the equivalent of one extra battery cell inside of it over 86wh 737 model that goes on sale for $90 every month. $35 extra for one more cell isn't worth it, but what is worth it if you need it, is 250w combined output from all 3 ports compared to 140w on previous model, and a whopping 170w recharge rate by utilizing both usb-c ports!!! They claim It only takes 37 minutes to recharge. That seems pretty insane to me. It also has bluetooth app support and supports find my features. It looks to me like you mostly over pay for this one for features and better electronics and not so much bigger capacity than anker 737 that was just on sale.

I think it's a good deal for a feature rich and powerful power bank. If I didn't already order 737, I would jump on this.

Here's a review I found interesting from someone who owns both, they also posted pics comparing two side by side, this one is a tiny bit bigger than 737:

No, the TSA maximum is 100 watt-hours. This product is very intentionally below that limit with a capacity of 99.54 Wh. Talking about batteries in terms of amperage isn't very precise since the nominal voltage can technically be different. Capacity (i.e., watt-hours) = amperage * voltage * time.

You just thought and didn't do any research? It's right in the product description Blink

Please know that this power bank is 99.54Wh, which meets the requirements of the TSA(<100Wh) to be taken on airplanes as carry-on baggage.

Is this worth it over the 737 for a 40 percent premium? I could also keep the 737 and buy the 523 as a more portable one. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Great information thanks for the review. I'd push back on the reviewer about confusing which USBC is the input. It's the top one. Solves that confusion pretty quickly.
Looks like he's talking about this Prime 27k, which appears to allow double-in charging on the USB-Cs. But I agree, on the Anker 737, only the top USB-C port allows charging.

If this higher capacity/wattage power bank is anything like the 737, I'd totally jump on it. The 737 has been a god send on every one of our trips!

I wanted this model but I don't think you can bring it on an Airline. I think the max for a carry-on is 27,000 and this is just slightly above it.
You can bring it on a plane. I've done it and the manual allows it

Still a bit of a niche product and still too expensive for what it is, but couldn't stop myself from pulling the trigger on it. Thanks OP!
The software features are good, with that said I use the 12000 one much not. this is bulky for everyday use for me

The important thing is not whether it technically is allowed, but whether they will always allow it. Are the watt-hours prominently printed on it?

It's not help being right when you've got a plane to catch and they say it isn't allowed.

Like just about all of these types of battery banks, the watt-hour rating is printed in small print on the back. If the TSA questions it, all you have to do is point at this 99.54 Wh rating (which I am sure they know to look for). Being informed about the TSA regulation and knowing where to find that marking means you will of course always be able to fly with it in a carry-on. I was only arguing technicalities because misinformation was being commented on my deal thread and I happen to be an electrical engineer.

Edit: The 99.54 Wh rating is on the bottom of this unit (not the "back", since this unit is intended to be able to stand upright). I haven't received mine yet, but I verified with some reviewer photos.

Repped. This is the answer to the question that matters most for air travel. Easy proof on the unit. TSA workers aren't perfect.

Nobody wants to bring the manual (or have to show pics of it for them to match up with the unit) along to prove it. This is the very first post that eases my mind completely for that situation where the TSA worker gets a bug up their ass and tries to deny me boarding with it. Not just knowing and telling them it is allowed, but showing them it is, with ease.

Planning to gift a power bank to a family member in India. Can this power bank be charged using a 220v power input?

This doesn't come with a wall charger. You need one that works with India's 220V.

To answer the question this is agnostic to that as it charges with a USB-C. So like the other person said you just need to make sure whatever charger you use is happy with 220v(which honestly all the ones I've ever seen are usually like a range of 100-240v) but you can easily check on the charger itself and it will state what it can do. Just never use a charger that says for instance 100-125v and nothing else on a 220-250v. They'll usually say straight up 100-240/250v and stuff like that.

Anyone know if the included cable is silicone? And does it support passthrough charging?

I wonder if you could rig this up as a parking mode battery in place of a black-box type device ala https://www.blackboxmycar.com/pag...%20battery.

I just received mine. I don't think the cable is made of silicone; it looks like a regular cable, rated for 140W, but the battery supports passthrough charging.
I also have the 737, and this one has a slightly larger display, and it's a bit larger than the 737. So far I love it.

Would you recommend it given its $35 more? Curious if the 737 supports pass through as well.

I bought the 737 at $90, but I can also get a 533 with the money saved. What do you think?

In for one….thanks! I bought two of these Shargeek when they were on sale for $99, and I absolutely love them, but the display characters are too small for my old eyes now so this one should do nicely. 😄

You cannot ship it to India yourself. It will get confiscated. Bring it there or order it from a retailer there.
