Great tent, love mine been using a 6 or 8 person for last 10+ years (fits two queen air mattress perfectly wall to wall) for car camping. I wouldn't use in inclement weather and do recall water via condensation on tent walls.

My pro tip: the carry bag is filth and will tear/shred the first time you try to squeeze the tent back in. Instead, I have a large vinyl tarp I lay down for a foot print and extend several feet past the doorway as a patio for shoes, etc. - but upon break down and departure, simply lay out the tarp length wise, collapse the tent, drop the bulk on-top of the tarp and roll it all up cigar style and cinch up with two bungee cords (the bungee doubles as a clothes line during camp) - I store in the garage same way. Tarps with eye holes are best and can match up with the tent tie downs when you stake into the ground.

i have this exact tent purchased 10+ years ago. Using it 2-3 times a year and it still looks like new. The setup process literally takes a minute.

This thing is pretty easy to set up. Ex gf and I used it a couple times during the fall season. October, November. We used it at least 3 years and it held up decently. Not often if course. I did notice condensation inside the tent the last we used it,we did beach camping, but we also never used a fly if it even had one. Pretty sure we bought it for 80 or less at the time.

It was good and convenient enough that I reconsidered it when looking for a new tent for myself and would definitely buy it again especially for occasional use. But seeing the condensation last go around convinced me to try something different as I'm learning about these

So the man outside can't look in the back.

Have had this tent "8-person" since 2015. Its very easy to setup. Like 10 mins max by myself. Collapsing takes longer. Only got a fly 2 years ago for it because of the following. I might buy it again as the fuzzy moths ate a small hole that I had to patch 3 years ago. It rained really hard one night and then after the tent was covered in fuzzy moths.

Had the 6 person. Though easy to set up, mine leaked in the rain, even with the rain fly, which only covers the top. It was new too.

I believe it came through the seam between the sidewall and the floor.

Have had this tent for about 10 years and it's the best I've had. Way better than my gazelle that I just purchased because of the size. It's good for 1-2 persons to sleep comfortably maybe u can fit a dog

Great tent for what it's used for, which is car camping where you don't have to carry it very far. I have two of the six-person tents and have been pretty happy with them. We camp in them for ~25 nights/year.

Pros:
  • Super simple setup. It's literally up in about a minute
  • Will hold up to some decent wind if you stake it and use the guylines
  • Height of tent allows you to stand up taller, which is helpful for changing, getting in and out of tent, etc.
Cons:
  • Heavy and unwieldy. This is more like a portable house than a backpacking tent. Hope you don't have to lug it very far
  • Moisture buildup. Heavy rains it will leak but lots of tents will. Moisture can build up if you don't vent properly
  • Durability. I had a plastic piece break that basically meant I couldn't easily stake down one corner of the tent. The part could not be replaced and Coleman told me I was SOL until I leaned into them a little bit. They ended up replacing the tent
Overall, would absolutely buy this tent again. Buy some better stakes. Buy the rainfly. Use a tarp for a footprint. You'll be great.

The instant set up sure sounds nice. However, take note it takes up considerably more space/weight, so depending on your use case it may not be worth the trade-off.

For comparison, I've been happy with my "Sundome [amazon.com]" Coleman tent, which is still pretty quick to set up and includes the rain fly. For the 4-person variety:

Sundome:
‎24.65 x 8.23 x 7.56 inches
‎4.34 Kilograms (9.6 lbs)
$65

Instant
‎38.74 x 10 x 8.27 inches
‎8.64 Kilograms (19 lbs)
$87

A bit confused. So integrated rainfly but folks recommended getting a separate rainfly since integrated one doesn't work well?
