These actually sound really good. You'd want more for stacking though.

The problem is blow out failure risk as with most on these impossible to work on lunch box babies. Not normally amp tech or home tech repairable, or too costly comparatively. It would need to be about $60 on sale to offset the risk and it would still be a frustrating shame; which would probably make them more money by volume! Not that they will. If they had a great track record, or free replacement warranty for the long term it would be great. But we are seeing more and more disposables.

And you still get better total value in a combo 1x12.

Yeah, that's not expensive; but still to much for a disposable.

And I'm not really accounting for good or bad finish quality, comparatively. Which may be fine. Just mainly performance.

Thank to the OP for another fine post though. Truly interesting.

If you're looking for a Vox amp sound, you need something intended to have that.
I like that these are small, especially if you already have a cabinet.

I think people just assume disposable (if long-lived) at this point. I hate that, but there it is. Fender sells their Bassbreaker amps, at a not-inexpensive price, and they're utterly unfixable.

I've tried to say: Pick your real tube base flavor, from one of a clean Fender/American, or Bassman/Tweed Crunch, or Vox AC/AlNiCo(blue), or Marshall/Brit/EVH/Greenback-ish real tube CIRCUITS first. Based perhaps on either which known nuance you might play most, or whether you want it starting clean, or with some strong, OPTIONAL max (range) of break-up distortion, in your selected real classic tube circuit foundation. That way having another stage of stacking (Character nuance *and* enough distortion gain, and sensitive boosted 'sound-stage' tube type blooming drive fullness.)... Because....

Then you could also choose your (some cost effective) non-tube(or mash up) multi device gear (effects, amps, IR's), and with maybe one more optional pedal; that you prefer as separate(If lower cost or there are better uses for it separately), or the old school, expensive, loaded pedal board; either way to get your OTHER classic three, basic, real tube circuit sounds. To the ear and song matched guitar sound patches. Superlatively, and most flexibility. Covering everything FOR LESS $. And you could still set it for either all non-tubes, or no tubes; if not always mixed. And stacked or not.

All this, is if you want to spend the least, and yet get the most matching flexibility and carry size advantages. And the wattage of your real tube base around 15W tube, allows for the best combining some gear, saving in a real tube 1x12, Celestion or matching combo amp. Not combining the "digital" or non-tube gear, like in the Katana 100 MKII (2nd place $280 choice), for savings, the real classic tube combo repair-ability and its more longevity, and if the $35 Cube Baby, then inexpensively replaced with new, low cost multi device technology progress, in many years. Likely Saving even more over time. Now and in the long game, over the lifetime of you and yours. And could be passed down.

Oh, and mainly; because one eventually needs some kinda preferred power amp and guitar voiced 12" speaker then you might as well consider a portable combo so you can always work (practice and perform) through the same unit, tweaked the same ways.

And now with the all knob options, both for your classic combo and $35 Cube Baby (multi pedals or other device) then it's a huge, no-screen and computer needed, simple, yet most flexible, operational advantage, and that's a big deal, also.

@NeoSlick. There is a ton of information/ effort in your posts. However, you've got to tighten them up...it's all over the place and difficult to follow.
