There is absolutely no benefit to redeeming in MA over iTunes. The movies will port to MA and connected services in the exact same fashion if you redeem in iTunes. In fact, some Fox 4K blu-ray movie codes, like the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy, will only port to MA in HD if you redeem in MA. If you redeem them in iTunes, you get the 4K version ported to MA. So even though you're buying the 4K movies, you're not always getting the 4K digital code by redeeming in MA.
I'm just trying to provide helpful information. You do you.
I hate Apple products, but I always redeem my MA movie codes in iTunes if it's available as a redemption option. This is because you get the 4K version in iTunes if they upgrade the movie. Redeeming in iTunes will still port the movie to MA and connected service. MA will most likely not upgrade your HD movie to 4K. You should always redeem a MA movie in iTunes if it is available.
For example, I received the Captain America HD blu-rays. Winter Soldier and Civil War redeemed in iTunes in 4K and ported to MA in 4K. Had I redeemed them in MA, they would've only been in HD in MA and every connected service, including iTunes.

They used to consistently offer 4k discs but now it seems to be just blu rays
I think they are clearing out the warehouse with the Disney Movie Club closing down. I wonder if the insiders program will still offer any physical media once the change over to Sony doing everything is complete.
They're my codes, I'll redeem wherever TF I desire to.. how's that work lol?
Do you also buy the SD option instead of HD for the same price? You make absolutely no sense as he explained how you only shoot yourself in the foot by redeeming in MA instead of iTunes.
For anyone else out there, ALWAYS REDEEM ITUNES OVER MOVIES ANYWHERE. Apple's free upgrade to 4K will only happen if you redeem (or buy) a MoviesAnywhere title on iTunes.
Edit: I'll add the caveat you should be checking the 4K redemption sheet, but here we are talking about the Disney Movie Insider reward program.

Specific to the Apple Vision Pro... You could have an HD Blu-ray (pre-2020 issue?) and you can redeem it via iTunes, and get the 4K version in iTunes and MA, AND get the 3D version for the Vision Pro as well. Even if you bought the 4K disc and redeemed that code via MA, you will not get the 3D version.
Yes, you get DMI when you redeem in iTunes. If you redeem an HD code that's 4K in iTunes, you will get 200 4K points instead of the 150 HD points. You can also give the other DMI code to a friend (plug in the code on the slip at the DMI website) or redeem yourself for double points (however, some people have said that they had those taken away after Disney did a points audit so I just give them away)
You need to submit the code separately on DMI for points.
You can actually get points doing both (but some have had their extra points taken away after an audit so I just give them away). The iTunes redemption will show in your DMI account as "Movie Submission" as if you paid money for the movie on iTunes.
Has anyone every had luck with the Mystery dvd/bluray's?
I assume they basically just send you whatever they have the most inventory / slowest moving, but I was just curious if anyone ever pulled something not listed or higher value points wise?

Last time people got Onward or Turning Red from the mystery Blu-ray movies. It was supposed to be a PG-13 film, but I guess it ended up changing.
I wish they were on sale for dollars not points. imo disney pulled the wrong move by trying to discontinue bd sales cause theyve been selling all their bangers like hotcakes recently...

They were on sale for 60% off in dollars. This is the excess lol.

I tried a couple times and got movies I consider sub-par movies like Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Maybe they truly are selecting randomly from all their titles, but it makes me think they are only picking DMI movies that have the most stock.
