It depends what you're doing. These are for taking off branches that are bigger than pruners/loppers can handle. If you want to chop down a tree, then you definitely want a chainsaw. I bought something like this for my small peach and plum trees and it's really the best tool for the job.

If you're looking at this thing and thinking, why would I need that? Then you probably don't need it.

I trust Fiskars. They have limited life time warranty anyways, so why not. Fiskars has been around for close to 400 years and owns world renowned brands like iittala, Arabia, Gerber. No reason to think they would cheap out on their own name brand.

how do we claim warranty? I have one pruner that is dead.

How does this compare to the Fiskars with the retractable blade? Same? Either version more susceptible to blade snapping?

In 4-1. I believe my spouse tossed out our old cheap one. I've been looking for an inexpensive replacement that can sit out in the back yard for easy access and not worry about rust or damage.

This saw is not good. I bought it from Lowe's and returned it. Check out samurai ichiban on Amazon. It's only $25 and an amazing saw. You can tell whoever designed it cuts wood. It's not a folding saw, but honestly it's not much bigger and I actually prefer the sheath. The back of the blade of these folding saws are exposed. While it's not sharpened, it's still abrasive especially if your planning to carry it around in a pack.

According to CCC, this saw has never sold for more than $20 and averages around $16 throughout the year so it's really only ~23% off. Still a deal but Amazon list price is misleading.

Don't really *need* one but would buy one if my local Target had in stock. Most other Targets around me show only 1 left. Saved, from myself.
