What about titanium?
The 80+ ratings don't have anything to do with reliability. Run cooler? Sure by a few watts. Efficiency? Around 2% better than gold rated. And almost unnoticeably quieter, a few watts less waste heat isnt going to make much of a difference when we are talking about 100s of watts of usable power. And the price is actually not bad, the cheaper decent brand name platinum ones start at around $250 for 80+plat. Is the $60 dollar difference worth the minor improvements for 80+ platinum? I personally would say no.

There are very few ATX 3.0 Platinum PSUs options of equivalent build quality, and they are more expensive.
In an era where many people have NAS and either shut down when not using, or can quickly sleep and unsleep their PC, Gold vs. Platinum has never mattered less.
On another note, Corsair just released the SHIFT series in White, cheapest price I see for it right now is $209 for the 1200w version on Amazon right now. I just bought the last one ($239 everywhere else).

Using this configurator, you tell it what case you have and then notice if it recommends SHIFT PSUs or not. It will only recommend SHIFT PSUs if your case has clearance for it: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/pc-...inder/case
For people about to buy a case, the SHIFT feature itself is so great that it should dictate what case you do or don't purchase, not the other way around.

Yeah I'm good now. It was the first time seeing this form factor (after I received it) so I didn't even know back side connectors were a thing. I ended up going with a Seasonic GX-1000 instead. My previous PSU lasted me 10 years so I don't keep up with these things all that often.

Considering the technology advancements and trends for the past decades, I doubt we will see 1500w becoming the standard anytime soon.
If you aren't married to the idea of the plugs on the side, "be quiet! BN517 Straight Power 12-1200w 80 Plus Platinum, ATX 3.0" is $10 cheaper.
