Note: While this will now be the standard T-Mobile Connect plan at this price tier, due to overwhelmingly positive feedback and high interest from the community in the new upgrade from 3.5GB to 5GB of data monthly (previously announced as a jump to only 4GB), we have promoted this offer to the Frontpage for light data/mostly-WiFi users to consider.
T-Mobile offers their T-Mobile Connect Prepaid Wireless Service Plan w/ Unlimited Talk & Text + 5GB Data for $15/month (plus taxes & fees). Purchase of a SIM Card Starter Kit for $10 (one-time cost) may also be required.
Thanks to community member picframe for finding this deal.
Plan Features:
Unlimited domestic talk & text
5GB of data per month (domestic)
100MB domestic roaming data
No credit check required
No contract.
Bring an existing number from another service provider if desired, or get a new number at sign-up.
Connect is prepaid service which requires you to pay ahead of time monthly to continue service. You may discontinue at any time.

Ability to switch back and forth between other Connect monthly plan tiers (at a lower or higher cost) if/when more or less data is needed. Note that plan features can vary. Switching can be done by the customer via their account without needing to contact customer service (example, when planning ahead for travel and anticipating higher data usage for the upcoming month).

International data roaming is not available. International calling and texting while in North America is available with an international add-on (see details).

Not available for business customers.
T-Mobile Prepaid, PayGo. etc. customers can switch to Connect by T-Mobile at any time.
Connect by T-Mobile is available in T-Mobile Retail locations, Select Multi-Carrier locations, Telesales, or online.
Notice my $15 plan up from 3.5GB to 5.0GB this March. ( it was supposed to be extra 500MB a year til 2025 ) Other than that, same old Global Wifi-calling, ESIM support, unlimited voice/msg.. nothing more......
If you dont feel like paying big chunk at once, this is not a bad deal. Plus, you can change plan on the fly ( such I go down to $10 before I travel oversea or switch to $25 plan for my summer outdoor activities - all via website without talking to CSR )

It's a hard cap. But you can easily top it up, if needed. For example, top up by $5 gives you an additional 2GB.
I have been on T-Mobile connect for the last 1 year and it has been great for me.

Tax is based on your state tax. ex. I bought prepaid refill from Target.com. ( used to be Tax Free, but now it is 11.1% for me )
I find the grandfathered 100min $30 5GB still useful with the unlimited 1hr wifi in-flight + 4 full flight wifi per year benefit
Exactly, there are a lot of small things that aren't available on newer plans anymore, like T-Mobile Tuesdays and (paid) text messages when roaming. I also saw a thread on reddit that said their data wasn't throttled past 5GB anymore - I'll have to give it a try the next cycle.
Anyone have experience with their International add on?
Is it add/remove pretty easily if I only need it for a month when I'm traveling to Canada/Mexico? Does it work as good as their post paid international roaming?

There is no International Roaming Option. Although, you can call/text to/from the U.S. via wifi access while you are abroad.
In your case, if you want to call LOCAL-Canada while you are in Canada, you'd better off add [$5 Mexico & Canada Unlimited], but, you will still require Wifi-access to do so.
I don't know any Prepaid service is "International roaming friendly" other than Google FI?
First, you dropped the "closer to $20", after being challenged to show that being true?
Now, the plans aren't similar?
Show me the data? Deal breaker for most? Not me. What percentage is it a "deal breaker for most"? I know, you're not used to your half assed assumptions being challenged. You can have your own opinion, but don't speak for everyone when you have nothing to back up what you to claim you know about what everyone wants.

The huge benefit with this plan that people forget is all the major streaming and music services didn't count toward the data allotment. You could stream 100GB of YouTube and use none of your main data.
I think Mobile x 5gb is a better deal at the same price on a better carrier. Lexvor also has a $10 plan with 1gb and unlimited throttled 1.5mbps after. Another plan to cross shop would be good2go 3gb plan at $10 a month (paid yearly)
I understand. You are also talking about a plan that is at the bottom of tmobile market on their prepaid side…. Have to pay to play for prioritized data for the most part.
But if you don't have to pay to play, and this ends up being higher priority data, then it would be .... a slickdeal!
My dude, you're here for the purpose of not paying more.
They really don't. It's hard trying to make people such as yourself understand.
This is MONTHLY pay. Mint is annual pay, aka you must prepay the entire year in advance. People in USA can't afford $200 expense all at once these days, and perhaps they don't like the service or move somewhere it doesn't work great. No recourse for partial refund, you're stuck with eating the loss or keeping service that doesn't work well.
It's little expensive imo, $15+taxes and being hard cap makes this not worth it for me. I'd rather get unlimited everything at Metro for $25 flat or Visible if you want Verizon network though Visible has really bad deprio on $25 plan.
Us Mobile seems like decent choice at $180 for the year flat. I'd have to buy a single month or use free trial first before committing though.
I got the $10 connect plan and I get unlimited talk & text and it gives me 1GB of data..You can switch up or down in an instant on the web site w/o talking to anyone.(I parlay that up with an unlimited data line from visible in the same phone for data for $20 a month and that gives me a second line as well..Works great as long as you can do multiple esims
I use Google voice over data and even then I only talk about 10 minutes of that. Since I use wifi mostly I just need 1gb of data, and no minutes and no text. What is cheapest plan for me?
