Note: While this will now be the standard T-Mobile Connect plan at this price tier, due to overwhelmingly positive feedback and high interest from the community in the new upgrade from 3.5GB to 5GB of data monthly (previously announced as a jump to only 4GB), we have promoted this offer to the Frontpage for light data/mostly-WiFi users to consider.
T-Mobile offers their T-Mobile Connect Prepaid Wireless Service Plan w/ Unlimited Talk & Text + 5GB Data for $15/month (plus taxes & fees). Purchase of a SIM Card Starter Kit for $10 (one-time cost) may also be required.

Notice my $15 plan up from 3.5GB to 5.0GB this March. ( it was supposed to be extra 500MB a year til 2025 ) Other than that, same old Global Wifi-calling, ESIM support, unlimited voice/msg.. nothing more......
If you dont feel like paying big chunk at once, this is not a bad deal. Plus, you can change plan on the fly ( such I go down to $10 before I travel oversea or switch to $25 plan for my summer outdoor activities - all via website without talking to CSR )

It's a hard cap. But you can easily top it up, if needed. For example, top up by $5 gives you an additional 2GB.
I have been on T-Mobile connect for the last 1 year and it has been great for me.

The huge benefit with this plan that people forget is all the major streaming and music services didn't count toward the data allotment. You could stream 100GB of YouTube and use none of your main data.
Seems like the $25 plan has increased from 6.5GB to 8GB now. I wonder if this is finally time for me to switch out of my grandfathered $30 100minutes 5GB plan from 10 years ago
No binge on feature on T-Mobile connect. I was on same plan like yours until I switched.
What's wrong? Prepaid is listed in QCI 6. Connect is included in prepaid. Essentials is a different product. Also corroborated by this post[reddit.com].
Oops, my bad, I thought Connect was Essentials... Tmo has too many different offerings...
Exactly, there are a lot of small things that aren't available on newer plans anymore, like T-Mobile Tuesdays and (paid) text messages when roaming. I also saw a thread on reddit that said their data wasn't throttled past 5GB anymore - I'll have to give it a try the next cycle.
I'm still on the $30/month 100min 5GB unlimited data/text plan too! I've been considering switching to a cheaper plan since I have wifi nearly all the time and get nowhere close to 5GB of data usage. But there are a few things holding me back like the occasional good T-Mobile Tuesday promotion. Good reminder about the small things like pay per text while I'm in Canada and the Gogo inflight benefits. BingeOn might be holding my data usage lower too. I use Google Voice over wifi/data for any long outgoing calls where I'll be on hold to get around the low talk minutes but some months I don't even use any minutes.
Anybody has an experiance of switching from T-mobile postpaid account to Prepaid connect account? How to do that? Thanks in advance!
If you are moving yourself to Connect. May I suggest just go to your local Tmobile corporate store to do the transfer. ( at least you can instantly confirmed if the account has been transfered correctly ) Then, just pay 1 month or 2 to start your plan.
Then, go to your local Target and get yourself a Red card, all purchase get 5% back.
Come back to Slickdeals and set Deal Alerts over "Target Prepaid". Very often Target have this $5 off $40 or $50 refill card online ( I usually buy 4 cards at once - make sure in separate transaction )

Do you regret switching? 😂
Netflix, Prime video and YT is my primary data usage, can't survive without binge-on.
