Note: While this will now be the standard T-Mobile Connect plan at this price tier, due to overwhelmingly positive feedback and high interest from the community in the new upgrade from 3.5GB to 5GB of data monthly (previously announced as a jump to only 4GB), we have promoted this offer to the Frontpage for light data/mostly-WiFi users to consider.
T-Mobile offers their T-Mobile Connect Prepaid Wireless Service Plan w/ Unlimited Talk & Text + 5GB Data for $15/month (plus taxes & fees). Purchase of a SIM Card Starter Kit for $10 (one-time cost) may also be required.

Notice my $15 plan up from 3.5GB to 5.0GB this March. ( it was supposed to be extra 500MB a year til 2025 ) Other than that, same old Global Wifi-calling, ESIM support, unlimited voice/msg.. nothing more......
If you dont feel like paying big chunk at once, this is not a bad deal. Plus, you can change plan on the fly ( such I go down to $10 before I travel oversea or switch to $25 plan for my summer outdoor activities - all via website without talking to CSR )

It's a hard cap. But you can easily top it up, if needed. For example, top up by $5 gives you an additional 2GB.
I have been on T-Mobile connect for the last 1 year and it has been great for me.

What's wrong with that? Cuz then you get 11 months when your payments are ZERO?
Isn't one of the big selling points of prepaid over postpaid is not being locked in for long contract lengths? Why lock yourself in for a full year, if you can get something that is good enough for you while still having the flexibility to switch at any time (including downgrading to save money if you're abroad for extended periods of time, for example).
People in this thread acting like there's only one "correct" answer based on GB/$, when there are all sorts of other considerations and "best" is going to vary from person to person. Just because they don't matter to you, doesn't mean they can't matter to other people.

And also because of MINT MOBILE'S PLAN(which was bought by TMOBILE).
It's the famous "secret Wal-Mart plan." It came with unlimited video and music streaming that didn't count against the 5GB.
I'm still on that Walmart $30 plan from 10 years ago, and that's exactly why I haven't switched. I read that you lose "binge on" stuff on the lower tier pre-paid plan now.
We still get T-Mobile Tuesday perks which includes the $150 MLB.TV subscription each season for free. With Target deals on the T-Mobile prepaid refill cards, I'm paying about $27 a month.
We are comparing plans that aren't similar… hard cap is a deal breaker for most. (emergency situations need data) Usm offer 1meg (not 256k like most) But we are in here arguing over literally some of the lowest priced plans in the market and folks wanting to make down to the second stock trades at a concert in the daytime when the market is open?!
I currently have $20 plan with unlimited talk and text with 4.5GB data. Can i switch to this or this is for new customers only?
TIA
You should be able to switch if you're from another carrier or even if already with T-Mobile on another plan. When I switched from the $30 Walmart T-Mobile plan I apparently had an old sim card so they shipped me a new one for free in order to switch.
