It is a rip off and most restaurants upcharge 20%-30% in their menu -- can't blame them. But when you use these discounted gift cards to pay for orders, and if you have Dashpass, you end up paying around $4.5 extra in markup, service fee and tips for an $18 order to have someone driving to the restaurant, potentially waiting 5-10 minutes for the order to be ready, and driving to your home to get it delivered. I can't really complain about that. If I drive to pick it up myself the whole trip could easily take 30-40 minutes. The service is fundamentally paying someone whose time is cheaper than yours to do the same job -- gig work -- and saving a bit of money is always better than nothing.

It allowed me to buy more 24 hours after my first purchase. Starting to pile up on these tho so will just get 2 digital this time around. So hard to pass up a good deal.

DoorDash support has gone down hill in the past year and I'm only using UberEats now. I contacted support when one of my orders was missing a small $2 order of rice. They completely refunded the whole meal ($60) even when I said I was just missing the rice.

The next week I ordered dinner when I had guests over and the driver delivered food that had spilled. I added pictures of the mess to DoorDash support and they said my account was flagged for too many refund requests. Keep in mind the only refund I asked for was the rice order in the past 12 months.

Same boat, I had a pretty weird recent interaction with DD support that I now just avoid contacting them altogether and have been winding down my DD usage.
