I have the monitor (I made the first post about it on the UWSG subreddit) and have had it since September 2022 for the 49" Odyssey G9 (non Neo, non CRG9). I have not had any issues with my monitor arm. If I put the monitor arm in any position, it will stay. I can move, tilt, and rotate it as I please. It definitely does take effort if you want to move the bottom arm. My product arrived with stripped threads on the tilt mechanism. I fixed it with JB Weld. Looking around it seems that the QC may not be on par with Ergotron but if you buy with Amazon, you can get an exchange/return easily.
I don't see the arm being better than the Ergotron HX with HD Pivot. I don't have personal experience with it but with it costing more than double ($400 vs $170), it'd be hard to believe it would be better. I would hands down recommend Bewiser for anyone on a budget (or not willing to shell out $400 for a dumb monitor arm). Castaway may not have had the hd pivot or maybe the wrong ergotron, the ergotron hx with hd pivot is the only one capable of holding the 49" odyssey.
edit: read some amazon reviews, both monitors should be capable of the 57". This is the only ergotron that can hold the 49" afaik and seems to have positive reviews on the 57" - https://a.co/d/cna3FXw
