It really is a shame they haven't released XM vs SF, MSH vs SF, MvC, MvC2 as an arcade bundle
I completely agree, I feel they wanted to force us into buying that Arcade 1UP edition of these games. Leave it to game development to never give the fans what they want 😮 💨

They will eventually...right? Right?
In all seriousness, the fact they released it through Arcade 1UP just tells us its a matter of time.
MVC3 is more popular than Infinite despite being released earlier. Marvel Studios forced Capcom to really hamper the game roster wise and overall it's messed up in ways that aren't conducive to fun.
3 isn't perfect but it's replayability is much better than Infinite.

I'm still bitter than Capcom pulled the plug on Puzzle Fighter mobile. They had a game with a growing following, 500k downloads in less than a year, with a growing Twitch following, tournaments, and a growing player popualtion. Instead of keeping it going they just shut it down so they can make a wonky port of Deadrising.
If I recall correctly, people were really bitter on MVCI because it didn't include the X-Men, who are mainstays in the franchise (this was a period where Marvel was trying to tamp down their use of the X-Men, as they didn't own the film rights).
MVC3 was the last good one. MVCI had massive development problems because of the Disney purchase and license issues and is generally regarded as best forgotten.

How is MVCI messed up? It's competitive level is far beyond mvc3, but not many players reached the games potential and gave up on it. MVCI roster may not be as large as mvc3 but each character is very unique, unlike mvc3.

This is accurate. The X-men characters would have made it better and we were all hoping they would become dlc, but it never happened.

MvC infinite was release in 2017, 6 years after MvC3, but it's not even 10% as popular as MVC 3 is today, it's a not a bad game, and the mechanics are there as you said, but it looks worst despite being newer, shitty roster (marvel's fault), with cash grab DLC for characters (capcom's fault). Capcom even released statements like, Magneto isn't the real reason people like Magneto, it's his 2 axis movement and we gave it to so so.
Did Capcom make a bad fighting game? No, mechanically speaking, MvC infinite is fine, but it's missing what makes MvC fun and exciting to play and Capcom tried to market it as if it was a superior game but it's not. You don't have to agree with me, but objectively speaking, 16 players on today for MvC Infinite while MvC3 has 150 tells the story.
Nobody wants to play MvC infinite at the 'top levels' that you're describing because the top level is bland, it's usually just tag and fish for high/low trades. MVC3 has varied gameplay, strats, and characters at the top level is still better looking and fun to watch as a spectator.

I never played mvci but it was not well received &
the infinity stone aspect seems weird to me.
