Just picked up a PS5 after many years of using Xbox game pass/gold conversion.
Game Pass also costs $17 per month and PS Plus Essential (which these games are for) is $7 per month.
PS Plus Premium is a better comparison cost wise, but I think Game Pass' offerings are a little better since they often give day one games. So your point there is valid.

Base game pass with access to full library including Diablo is $10 per month.
I have not bought a single game for my Series S directly, and it gets played more than my PS5 with the catalogue of games I've built up over the years.

You're a couple years late for PS+ membership sales. You used to be able to get a year of it for $25-$35 very frequently, but that ended about two years ago. Maybe not quite that long ago. Well over a year, at least. Now, the most you can hope for is usually getting the basic version for $60 (which was its original price, but they've since raised it to $80). Even then, a lot of times it's only for select accounts. As much as I love PlayStation, Sony has been making some absolutely asinine decisions for the last 6+ months.

It's not worth your time unless you are being paid to play it. Terrible action game, combat and story. Far better games to play in the last decade at least and they cost only a few bucks.

Free doesn't = worth playing. Your time is more valuable than that. Spend it playing a great game instead.
Life is too short to waste any time playing a crap game like Immortals of Aveum, when soooo many actual good games exist. I guess if you hardly play anything, and don't have much to compare it to, then it can seem good.
