Gerber has really went downhill since they were bought buy Fiskars a while back, they used to be one of the best and now it's 99% chinese made bottom of the barrel Bear Grylls junk.

HD has the FASTBACK 6-in-1 Folding Utility Knives with General Purpose Blade Model # 48-22-1505 on sale currently at $14.97. It's my EDC, love it. I'd get that over this.

I have a few Gerber chefs/cooking knives from ~40 years ago they are among my most favorites. Over some of the popular brand names I have. They don't make the Gerber's any more.

I got one when it was slightly less, didn't think to post the deal - wouldn't pay more than this price.

The comparison with the Milwaukee is a little bit apples and oranges. If dimensions matter to the person, including the weight of the Milwaukee being 1lb according to the website then that might be where it's relevant to get something smaller like this one, and of course other people will be looking for a serious tool. I think Gerber has issues too but this one is okay for what it is.

Wow, what amazing advantages did this overpriced utility knife give you v.s. a random say flat head screwdriver in this situation? 😂
Came in handy, you mad?

The Milwaukee can't possibly be 1lb, they must just have bad info, it looks lighter than the Gerber, it's just a fastback folding utility blade with a pocket knife style fold out screwdriver

I don't think I'll ever forget watching an episode of bear grylls, where he is in the midst of lava flows. And he's telling the camera that you have to be careful about where you step, for being burned or whatever. And then he proceeds to leap over a lava flow into a section... I can't remember if he acted like his feet were going to catch on fire at that point.... But I do remember And I thought to myself yeah that about sums him up.

Left out behind the scenes part where the camera pans and he was right next to a busy highway, not desolate at all. He could also go 15 feet more to walk around the lava. No crossing lava necessary.

I bought this a while back, although it's not my go to, it is very slim and great as a back up. It's feels very solid and pry bar is tough enough so far. My only complaint is changing blades is not the easiest on this thing
