This seems like a pretty good deal, but I see two complications. First, every time I get better food for my dog, he seems to reject the previous diet. Yeah, cheap dog food is... {insert pejorative here}.
Secondly, I often buy 10 pound bags of chicken quarters at Walmart for $8 and that might be cheaper than the dry food I buy for him. Especially when he gets the drippings after baking and sometimes the leftovers.
And dogs love people's leftovers. Even when it is cheap carbs like rice and pasta.
I got the deal, but is the product backordered? No matter what I do it says first delivery will be May 13th. If I edit the subscription it allows me to select April 1st, but then it reverts to May 13. Anyone else have this issue?
If you're serious about your dogs health and extending their life you want to feed raw. If you're interested in how to make it PM me and I'll share the recipe. It'll take me a couple of weeks to reply since we're vacationing in Pacific NW after participating in last weekend Bremerton WA dog show. We've got six dogs, four of them current of previous AKC show dogs, three grand champions and one champion still being finished. (the other two are mutts). They all eat home-made raw.
I'm by no means a dog food snob. Just because the iams has a protein as a #1 ingredient and the other is a grain. I'm assuming here the iams is a better choice.
