As for where I used them, I have them on all of my key chains. You can also hang them on your dog's collar, put them on a tv remote, all kinds of stuff. I stick to stuff that can genuinely be lost and not necessarily stolen. Your phone leads you right to them (with arrow a feet counter) so its handy for quickly finding things.

These are not meant for theft and do a fairly poor job of preventing it. For example: they'll alert the thief that they are being tracked and show them where the tracker is. Apple also specifically states that FindMy should not be used for law enforcement purposes and many police departments won't help. That's not to say that people haven't used them to recover their stuff. More just that it's far from a guarantee that it will be helpful.

We know where the product is. He was asking for proof of your statement that this is the everyday price (it's not.) Since you linked BB, Best Buy price tracker here: https://thepricecatcher
They are terrible now and I didn't realize how much Apple had gimped their effectiveness. In general, the "Find My" app seems to get worse with every major iOS update. Phones seem to be the most accurate and quickest to update their locations. Watches, iPads and AirPods, forget about it. It works, but not as quick or accurate.
My wife and I have one each for our keychains since we have master key's for our respective jobs, plus I put one in each of our daughter's car seats in each of our vehicles. Mainly for the "remind me if forgotten" feature when our phones extend out of range of our keychains or vehicles.
It simply doesn't work like it used to. We will be driving in the car and suddenly the alert goes off that we have forgotten our vehicle randomly 5 blocks away despite our phones being right next to them. This issue applies our AirPods and my iPad. It wasn't like this until iOS 15 and from there, the reliability has plummeted.
If we open the "Find My" app, it will not update in real time if we are in range. On average, it will be 30-90 min delays. We no longer receive low battery messages on the AirPods.
We're now looking at other options.
