Just an FYI to anyone considering these - check the website of the individual park you're looking at before booking through Groupon. The park and dates I priced out actually came to $396.25 on Groupon, but just $359.33 through the Great Wolf Lodge website. They had a sale / promo through mid June.
Its true, I found the price cheaper directly from Great Wolf Lodge website vs Groupon. About $90 cheaper.
We just did Kalahari in the Poconos. First time at indoor waterpark. We paid less for Kalahari and parking was free. I was just looking at Great Wolf and looks newer, but also charge for parking. Seems like everything is more expensive there including dining.

I heard that you don't have to actually stay at one of these places to use their arcade, water park, Magiquest, and other things. So, if you live close, and would rather sleep at home. You can also save money that way.

The one day park only admission is almost the same as with hotel stay. So you're not saving much. The price difference entices people to spend the night there to get the most out of their money.

This is true. Best deal would be to book a one night stay so you have access to the park for two days.

Was at Poconos Great Wolf this past February. They updated their has updated their Villas, the regular rooms are still the same. Also, while there were signs saying to pay for parking, the employees said not to worry about it. Maybe its enforced during the summer season...
Kalahari was good. My kids had a good time. Stayed two nights, got to use the water park the day we arrived for about 4 hours. Then the next day most of the day. Day of the checkout we did arcade, we were pretty tired out.
My only complaint is that the air inside the waterpark is very hot and very dry. I guess lots of chlorine is obviously used. By the end of the second day we all had a very dry cough that lasted most of the night and some next day. Not just us either, could see lots of people at the park having the dry cough.

I just checked on the website as well, a $120 room has a $20 tax added in NC (unsure why) and a $39.99 resort fee.
Junk fees.

Yes, my fam and I was ill for almost a month and it wasn't covid. Depressing times after a great time there!
