Stick drift is caused by wear on the carbon trace, not dust
Get out of here. You don't know what you're talking about here
Though none of my Xbox controllers have developed stick drift, I do find it awfully telling that M$ only offers a 90 day warranty when they used to offer 12 months.

I've had 2 controllers develop sick drift within a couple months with only very light usage (one was mostly used to play only Tetris!)
I have never had a controller develop stick drift. I have purchased used video games lots with controllers with drift, but I have only had 2 Dualshock 4 & 1 Xbox One controllers that I had to replace the entire stick to fix. Most of them I just had to take apart & clean the potentiometers to fix them.
Dream vapor for dreaming about a controller that won't get stick drift in 2 months

Yeah and I play MVC3 and COD 2 extensively. No issue for me. Some folks are Blowing out of proportion. Don't be like them

Only stick drift issue I had was on my original PS5 controller, which Sony replaced. I've had 3 other PS5 controllers ever since and they haven't developed the drift.
I have a wired xbox 360 controller and it's never had drift issue.
My original xbox 360 wireless controller never developed it.
I have two of these new xbox controllers but haven't used them enough to develop drift but I have to say wow they are nice to use. When people say dreamy they aren't kidding
Compared to everything you get with a PS5 controller: unless these are $20, you're overpaying. They offer absolutely nothing of significance that wasn't in the 360 controller (a headphone jack and a share button, wow), and sheep are still buying them for $50+.
They are similar because they have been long regarded as the best controller design in the market, bar none.
Just look for rumor mill news on Xbox, but yes - there is likely to be a new Xbox (digital only) later this year with a new controller that is the same but also has haotic feedback.

I don't disagree that it's a great design. However, the design can remain the same while including features that actually make them worth the asking cost. You always see Xbox controllers going on sale - why? They're cheap to make and they don't have anything that a third-party brand can't do.
Microsoft could have included some nice next-gen features like active triggers, gyro controls, speaker and built-in battery without changing the design.
Why do people act like stick drift is some foreign concept?
It's a widespread issue so much so this generation and even Nintendo was fixing pads for free for years due to it. Sony still does too, I recently got one back for it on a PS5 I got in November.
I have fully working controllers, consoles and other gaming accessories since 1988 with no issues but almost every pad I've had over the last few years has experienced drift. I game a lot but jesus, it's bad.

Then you try to trade it into GameStop and they give you $10 trade in or $5 cash...
Xbox controllers are sexy as hell. I can't control myself.
My Xbox 360 "slim" controllers still work as well as my OG PS3 controllers. Never had stick drift, but I realize it's a thing.

I think I bought the neon yellow one. The only exotic one I own is the Forza 5
