I got a YADA dash cam, a different model. It is for sure not a top notch dash cam, but it can get the job done. It records and saves video with no problem. The kit even has a SD card in it. For 6 dollars or the original 10 dollars, I feel like these negative reviewers are expecting way too much.

Yoda, can you explain how this Yada would risk security? You are not connecting this to your home network. This is a standalone & doesn't call home china

Maybe you should work on getting your message across in a way everyone understands the first time instead of getting angry about it.

If you had written this in the first message, at least people could have figured out that by "security" you meant "reliability".

Of course nobody expects this to look like a Fast and the Furious movie whenever they go out driving.

At $6 this is for the person who keeps saying they'll get a dash cam, but never does because all the good ones are $100+. It might even qualify for an insurance discount if your provider is willing to honor it.

You very clearly didn't read the rest of it. I think it's not going to work when you need it, that's my opinion.

Are you speaking from experience with this unit, or just making generalized assumptions?
The harassment on here is wild.

I've seen the specs and videos from this one. That plus all the reviews means there is a high chance it may not work when you need it.
This one is so bad/old its not even on their site anymore.

I agree what some have said. Its better than nothing. But not by much.

If you trust a 9 dollar dashcam (and now $5) what's the point of having it? is it to record stuff you don't care about because then it should work. I'd never trust one (again) that isn't recommended on dashcamtalk website.

Gotta echo this point here- "it's barely better than nothing" .

This could fail due to g-forces jarring the MicroSD card/slot at the point of impact in an collision accident for example.

Please be aware of the risks, I wouldn't want anyone running this with a false sense of security.

*I personally do use this cam.

Police won't even care about finding someone. So this user is completely right. The use case would be for a dispute where people don't leave or run away. Simply explains the actions. An unreal price for this purpose.

Everyone with $300 cameras is kidding themselves if the police is going to do more than run the tags and check for warrants on more interesting crimes. You have to prove who was driving. You have to prove they did all the damage. You have to fight their insurance. 1080 pixel will hardly get you a license plate at extremely close distance (tailgating). Stop kidding yourselves with your fancy cameras or trust in police or insurance.

This deal is awesome if free shipping.
I like the enthusiasm about the deal, but there might be some room for clarification on the earlier points; all of them.

So you're telling me the US can make and sell a dashcam with sdcard for $6 and it'd be top notch? LOL
No, he's saying they dont have to pay $15+/hour for Americans to assemble these, when it would be 85% cheaper to have it made in China and shipped over here.

Anyone with experience with this? Is it worth even at $6? Reviews are not very encouraging?
It's crap quality I got another one and I'm only using the SD card. My home cameras are better quality. It's 6 bucks, you get what you pay for.

720p for dash cam is bad. For the price I'd be surprised if it does good night video but look for reviews?

If it does well for day and night, I'd throw this thing on an ebike or eschooter, either your own or your kids. Hook it up to a battery pack and you have cheap dash cam.

crappy video quality. buy it for the wire and that you can use on other dash cams that went bad. mount can't be used since it's one made for this one. not the regular tripod screw in mount.

I have 4 of these, model BT58420, and 3 other dashcams.
Pros - Way cheap. Works great for that cost. Has all the basic functions. 4 GB card & Mini-USB cigarette cord included.
Cons - LED light comes on in dark; to easily disable just pry open case, remove 2 screws, and clip wires. Recmd upgrade to quality 32 GB card and 10' USB-A mini-USB cord for ~$16. Made in 2021.
These are good secondary cams, for rental/beater cars, for a trailer, etc. If you have a $50k car, spend $200 on a far better dual-cam.
