The locking mechanism of these bowls is iffy. It is spring-loaded, and if the spring is dislodged, they are unusable. We returned ours to Costco as the bowl costs $50+
We use ours for making dough, grating or slicing veggies, mixing oatmeal pancakes. It gets used more than our blender or hand mixer.

Is this product discontinued??
I was trying to check what all accessories this comes with and what all it can do but could not find this version FP-2GM in the Cuisinart website..
Doing some searching, it looks like this this model is only available through BuyDig and Beach Camera, which are the same company (like the listings on Amazon and Walmart.com are sold by Beach Camera). Might be some kind of exclusive?
From what I see, the other one is 1k watts and this one is 550watts. I'm leaning toward the refurbished one because of the higher wattage and extra 2 year warranty
How was everyone's experience with Buydig? I have not made any purchase through them before. This is a great price but I wondering if this is worth the risk. I recently purchased the 13-cup version from Costco for $120 as well, but they do have a great warranty.
Just unboxed mine, it looks brand new - the base plus all of the attachments. The base is a beast - cast iron underneath the plastic exterior and it feels it. Very heavy duty.
As an FYI, the 2-year extended warranty email I got from the warranty company only covers the purchase price ($64.99 in my case) not replacement of the unit.

This one is new so it has original manufacturer warranty. I believe it's 3 years.
This reminded me that I think my ex-girlfriend with Borderline Personality Disorder still has my food processor. $66 seems like a great deal compared to contacting her to retrieve my old one...
Does anyone happen to know if older attachments will fit this model? I have 8-9 blades from a 15-year-old Cuisinart that sadly has a broken lid and prevents the unit from operating safely. A replacement part runs 80$+.

I have the same problem, old Cuisinart with broken lid, I feel like it's so dumb and eco-unfriendly to have to replace it, but economically...
of course, they probably don't make em like they used to, the old ones might outlive most of the ones on the market now
Looks like reviews on this one are decent, not amazing, reports of cheap plastic, but this is an excellent price. The Cuisinart with the best reviews seems to be the 14 cup Custom model.
Good deal but this is a kitchen appliance that would collect dust for most people. Seriously though, how often do people need it or use a food processor? I rest my case.
You need to say this about a single purpose gadget like a hot dog toaster or something lol. Also, that used to be the case when 3 pounds of potato salad did not cost you 1/3rd the price of this thing. Now you are just flat out way better off making almost anything and bringing it to a get together than picking something on the way. This thing pays for itself in a few uses at the price of inflation these days. It buys you back loads of time chopping and grating even if you have a mandolin slicer to help. Use it to mix to boot and you just saved yourself a load of time that's spent doing better things than traveling somewhere 'along the way' and waiting for someone else to prepare things for you while draining your wallet.
There's a reason this is so cheap. It's very cheaply made. The mating surface between the bowl and the teeth is plastic, and the mechanism that attaches the bowl is prone to breaking.
Also, the motor is very light and not nearly the quality of the good Cuisinart models.
If you're going to use a food processor regularly, wait for a deal on a DLC-8SBCYP1 or better yet, a DFP-14BCNY.
If you insist on having one soon, get a Ninja NJ11GR until you can get a proper Cuisinart.
Just bought one this week. Surprised during unpacking to find a "Factory Refurbished" sticker on the inner box. The unpacked processor, bowls, and blades appear to be perfectly new. This model is plastic in places where I might have expected metal (such as the motor housing) but the overall feel is solid. Initial impression is that this is a very good deal on a capable processor.

You're right the bowl costs as much as the processor. These do wear out over time. Any other brand where this isn't a issue?
If you have an Ollie's near you, they are selling a Refurbished Elemental 13-Cup Food Processor (FP-13DGMFR) for $49.99. They don't have really a link directly to the item on their site, but you can see it in this flyer:
I went and picked up one since the flyer does not tell you much. It comes with the 4.5 cup bowl, Dice, Shred, Slice, Small Chop, Large Chop, and Dough Blade, and the Storage case as well. 550w motor. One downside is 90-day warranty only, but my debit card will extend that 3 more months.
