You're right. I thought the "I" was an "l" or "1". Carry on.

The Yamaha. If you haven't listened to one of their upper end receivers, you should. I like their ability to re-create the sound fields of various venues like "stadium" and "jazz club". Doesn't matter with a stereo setup, but with any surround speaker setup it's noticable. If you're like me, you'll really like 1 or 2 of the field choices and not the remainder. But for me, the few I like are better than a standard Dolby/DTS surround output.

Most other manufacturers don't seem to offer this, I don't think the Marantz does but I could be wrong.

Any reason to upgrade to this from existing Yamaha Avantage A3070 which supports 9.2 which I have set up as 11.2 with external amp??

My rx-3060 is still hanging in there but is old in the tooth. is this worth the upgrade or wait for the next refresh? this hardware is pretty old. are all the HDMI 2.1 issues sorted? Yamaha i love but they are slow with the firmware/fixes.

If you have no brand preference.
In general, if you regularly listen to music probably this.
If HT is the main use probably the Marantz.
The RC on the Marantz is better imo but this offers more internal power.

If I have a relatively well acoustically treated room, should I go for this or Denon 6800h?

Obviously subjective, but I'd go with the Marantz without a doubt. It's just a dream-machine for both music and cinema. Also, you get Audyssey, which is one of the best EQ tools out there, and -depending on your listening room- may really improve your result.

You kinda fall under the response I gave maheeinfy.
The 6800 is on sale open box for $1k more right now.
Does it have features worth that extra cost?

Bought an A6A last year off a similar Adorama deal and I've been really happy with it. General advice at this price point is to know the features you are buying and if you really need them. Easy to overspend for features/power you may not need. Yamaha seems to have good reliability and "works out of the box" for my home theater and gaming needs.
