Onkyo is selling for $400 more but somehow top seller.

I also agree it does come down to preference first.
Yamaha is a great example!
People always make a big deal about Dirac yet people still believe Yamaha is better.
Not to mention people define better differently and often people haven't even listened to both.

The Onkyo, according to Audioholics is probably the best AVR under $3000
In my opinion, its the best AVR under $3500
There is also a double blind test out there with AV professionals that selects Dirac over the other room correction systems, as their preference, offered by the Asian manufacturers

I use an external amp for the fronts and another one for the center, so power isn't a concern. I already have 11.2 speakers in the room.
But the room is funny (cathedral ceiling, kitchen behind), and in my office, the Schitt Syn seems to do a better job enveloping you with surround with only 4 speakers very close.
Wonder if it's worth the upgrade for the room correction and decoding features.
