I have owned Onkyo, Marantz, Denon, and Yamaha, all flagship. Since owning a Yamaha, I wouldn't buy the other brands (unless Yamaha quality goes down orv tier specs go down). I'd never buy an Onkyo again. That being said, Denon is my second favorite For whatever my opinion is worth, I'd say, if you are happy with the Denon keep it.

I would say don't buy the Dirac Live, but do use a little money to design your space. Sound deadening paitings, heavy curtains versus window blinds, throw rug versus tile floor, that kind of thing. Sound correction was made as many people were unable or didn't have time to properly correct their settings to make the adjustments needed after they correct their space. The problem, in my opinion, is that people want to buy something like this and just throw it in any space and it will sound amazing. Not true. It will sound the best it can for that space, even if it means turning down your front speakers dramatically for the best non-reflective sound. So it might just be that you need to check out your space and see what might be reflecting or causing issues. Almost and hard surface or if the rear port is too close to a wall, etc. Check out online forums like AVS for guides/help. Your current setup might open up a lot once you examine and change your space. I hope this helps and is all just one person's opinion.

Definitely strike if you haven't picked up either the A6A or A8A yet. My A6A is solid and a fantastic upgrade from the A3000 it replaced.

I still have Denon 3800 from Adorama under the return period (bought it for $899). With Monitor Audio Silver 300 F&R speakers (in a 5.1 setup), is this worth paying $1000 more? Smilie

I currently have a 7.2 theater. This would let me run 4 atmos, so 7.4.2? With no additional amplifier? Idk much about this beyond receiver + projector so this would be great to add 4 ceiling speakers

Currently have a Denon s730h, before that was an Onkyo TX-NR636

Great deal, I assume Yamaha will bring out an updated Aventage Line sometime in 2024 since the current model just too plain compared to other flagship AV Recievers

Two questions:
Is the extended warranty promotion still running?
Will this work with the new 144 Hz LG G4 and C4 OLED TVs or is it just 120 Hz 4K?

Thanks for sharing the price. For many it's easily worth the extra $500 over the A6A since you won't need to buy a separate stereo amp for the front channels in a full 11.4 surround system

Why not? unless you have extremely large powerful low impedance main speakers that would require an additional amp as well but since your Denon can power them that wouldn't appear to be the case.

The Aventage A8A weighs 47 lbs with a hearvy toroidal transformer, it'll put out clean power normal sized 11.4 surround systems

I expect Yamaha will update the Aventage Lineup in 2024

Proper display
Improved YPAO and streaming app
4k @ 144 Hz

They are struggling to move the flaship, compared to the latest Pioneer Elite VSX-LX805 this is ugly and needs more pysical dials. This is not a Tesla touchscreen rather an AV amp which needs proper tactile feel and switches/levers for adults (and naughty children) to play with

I mean, idk why not, that's why I'm asking lol. I do need new speakers, I'm currently running the Andrew Jones Pioneer speakers, v1 for 5.1, and the rears and 2nd sub are v2. Any suggestions? Maybe, 20k for all 11 speakers? Can this receiver run 20k of speakers? In over my head a bit

The dual subs will have their own built-in amplifiers so the receiver used doesn't make any difference as long as it has at least two subwoofer outputs. You can connect up to two subs with the A8A and use YPAO room correction for them

Might as well just call Adorama or somone like Gramophone and ask for their home theater specialist. They'd need to know the max wattage and ohms for the speakers to answer your question.

I plan on powering Kef R7 fronts, Kef R6 Meta center, Kef R8 (front Atmos), Kef Q350 rears, Kef Q50a (rear Atmos) and expect zero power issues though that's just a 5.4

Not worth the $1k upgrade. Use that for external amps and will do wonders for your set up. The room correction on Yamaha is the weak point.
