Is this a worthwhile replacement for my RX-A3080?

Oh yeah! I have an A6A. This thing is more weight, channels and a better DAC on paper.

Beware that the Atmos sounds awful straight out of the box, low dialog volume etc. It took me a while to adjust it, and still not happy about it.

Probably, but it's a lot uglier. I also have a 3080 and no interest in upgrading to this cyclops.
I thought the same until seeing in person.

TBH maybe if you want all 11 channels internally powered or need 2.1 support.

It's said to have a better DAC, unlikely to be an audible benefit though.

Will you hear a $1700 sound improvement, very very unlikely imo.

Here is a comparison of the differences.

I'm actually really interested in your perspective. I had a Yamaha that I gifted to someone else and went to Denon. I feel like the dialog clarity was better on my Yamaha. Dialog is far and away the thing I care about most and was looking at going back to Yamaha via the Aventage series.

No Dirac. At this price level that is a no go for me.

I feel the same way. Went from Denon 4400H to an A6A - both using a 5.2.4 setup - and I feel the A6A Overheads are drowned out whereas the 4400H had more of a pronounced overhead sound. I've always wanted a Yamaha Aventage, but now I think I'm realizing I'm more satisfied with Denon.

Hello, I have a 11.2 home theater with fronts center rears back rears and 4 ceiling atmos speakers and 2 subs . Right now I have a denon 9.2 x4300h (2016) that puts out 125w per channel but is only 9.2. Would this be a BIG upgrade for me since it has 150 watts and is fully 11.2? Thanks all my speakers are higher end klipsch like the RF-7

I have old Pioneer Elite LSX-VX501. It is okay, but I found it struggling driving even small KEFs LS50s in non-stereo mode. In stereo when they get full 120W, they sound okay in Pure Direct, with multiple channels driven they disappear. As my Pioneer does not have pre-outs, I cannot incorporate additional amp to drive them. So Pioneer has to go. Based on few zones and number of speakers - an A6A would be okay for me. But oh well, for few more $ will get additional DAC to lower noise floor and couple more channels. If music won't sound magical - will add an extra amp for fronts.

I also think yamaha has better channel separation and dialogue clarity.
