There is nothing to look for, the QTR 5% category on chase freedom is paypal and some other things this QTR unless you have the version of the freedom card that does not have the 5% qtr categories.

Was waiting on black Friday deals for receivers. I was mostly leaning on denon avr-3800h. This seems to be a step upfront from that. At this price is this a no brainer deal to jump on? Any feedback from people who own this?

Assuming you were waiting for the 3800 because of Dirac.
Assuming again you have no brand preference.
You might consider seeing if the Pioneer lx805 comes back for $1499.
Dirac Live is rolled into that price and has the option to DLBC also.

I think you should get denon. I switched from Denon to it, and didn't like it much, especially the Atmos' dialog low volume issue. Since I bought MusicCast wireless speakers, so now it's kinda hard to switch. I'll just ride it out for another year or two. Also this promo has been going on and off for many times.
There is no way to enter in the Promo code if using Paypal that I can find. Can someone please help?
Since no one else is helping you...Code just worked fine for me at check out, you need to put it in the payment area in the adorama screen where it says "code" here I will even do this for you w/ a pic. Then if you have a chase freedom card and it's linked to paypal the chase card 5% category this QTR is paypal.. make sure to activate it first on the chase card. That would get you another $75 off.. This is my good deed of the day!

You can call around to independent A/V dealers and you can buy the much better 6800 receiver for about $1850, trust me I know you can.... they can't advertise that price but you can get it with a little work and some phone calls. also, the 4800 is a nice unit and it has/will be on sale again for I believe $1300ish (look it up on here). The 3800 is fine but less options as far as channels, etc but when the price is on sale it is a good value.
no, you need a chase freedom flex card , the unlimited does not have qtr 5% bonus thats why it Sux! You need the freedom flex as it has the real good 5% QTR categories all year long just like discover card does. Do not understand why so many people do not take more advantage of all the free $$$ these bank cards want to give out to consumers! they always do amazon & paypal every year!!! You can if you want have them convert your unlimited card to a Chase freedom "FLEX" card and that will give you the 5% categories.

Actually the 4800 and 3800 offer the same internal channels and processing ones.
From personal experience there is very little differences between the 4800 vs 3800 especially if you consider the price difference.
Power is really it and that can easily be mitigated.

thank you. well, in one sense I have a band preference. anything but onkyo. I have had two onkyos in the last 16 years. tx-nr807 and tx-nr838. both died after 8 years or so. it was the known blown chip issue. though I have heard the rz50 doesn't have the same problem, I am hesitant to buy onkyo again. so I am looking for alternates. I have had a Yamaha with 5.1, lower end one, for almost 21 years now , and it works just as good. but I do want dirac live if possible. I see rz50 has it and pioneer does. denon3800h has dirac enabled but costs extra. was just wondering if this is worth the cost even without the dirac at 1600.
