I've owned both and used both quite a bit. They are both really great and I have no issues using either. Buttons and sticks are wonderful all around no matter which you use.

It's literally what you'd expect when comparing the two: one is slightly larger but slightly more comfortable. One is slightly smaller and slightly less comfortable.

The larger one didn't fit in any normal switch case for me, so I went to the smaller one. I definitely prefer the larger one's comfort but not enough to sacrifice the size and portability.

So whatever is more important to you you should go with. I doubt even if you choose the "wrong one" for you, you're not even going to be upset enough to know that you did 😂
Lacks gyro, rumble, battery and NFC. At this price point though, it's a justifiable sacrifice compared to joy cons.
My son and I like these wayyy better than joy con for travel. When docked, we use pro controllers. I literally sold my joy cons. No use for them with these and 3 pro controllers

My review after playing with them for 10 minutes.

It works. I can't believe it. I have simply not been able to ever use handheld mode with the joy cons as my hands would cramp within a minute.

I played for 10 minutes with these attached and no cramping. I could tell it might start on a much longer play session, but successful 10 minute gaming without cramp.

Now the cons.

No rumble, kind of miss it.
Doesn't fit in my case. So now do I buy a new case?? I haven't tried taking them off and putting in extra space in case yet. Maybe an option there.

Or now that the world of handheld mode has opened up to me, do I look for a set of these with rumble and a bigger case for that....Anyone have suggestion on next better set of split controller for these with rumble and a case that would work? Or does the low price point of these just make them worth sticking to?

Answering my own questions after a bit of research.

Looks like next available option is the Mobapad M6 HD at $79.99.

Or the Doyoky Epoch at $64.99.

Hmm. Do I care that much.

I have a number of third party joycons that have rumble and the rumble is definitely pretty garbage on those. Sure they vibrate but they pretty much vibrate at 100% every time and feel and sound unpleasant more than providing value to the gaming experience.

Can this be removed and used like a regular controller (like xbox) so when playing on TV we could still use this controller ? my son is asking a second controller for multiplayer games.
They don't have batteries or wireless capability. They can only be used when physically attached to the switch.
