Quote from AmusedScent305 :
Per the description on that one, they only guarantee up to 30 minutes of run time (which probably means no self-propelled use and average height/thickness DRY grass)…

If you can push mow your 1/4 acre in less time than that with a 21" deck, sure. Personally, I think you'd have to be running to achieve that, though, so you'd likely want to get a second battery. Otherwise you'll have to sacrifice something to achieve a longer runtime to finish in one charge (no self propel, side discharge instead of bag/mulch, higher cut height, etc.).
Thanks, will be getting this one I guess.

Yep, these are trash and don't last at full capacity beyond 2 seasons. Expect to have to warranty a battery or buy a new one. Good luck with customer service - the hold time is always over 1hr if u get lucky and can actually contact someone (per greenworks reddit)

Also good luck with Costco returns over 2 years - most stores deny after this period citing they don't do returns for buyer remorse after a certain period. Online returns uses the same logic and frequently denies returns also. 100% satisfaction guarantee super easy returns is fake and a thing of the past

FWIW, I went with this 80V Kobalt one from Lowe's [lowes.com]. In-store vs. in-store, on paper, they are the same price, no need for a Costco membership, delivery was free (+$15 hazardous item fee) versus $30 for Costco. Plus, I was able to score 3% CB ($15)... and burn $300 worth of Lowe's GCs that I just got from the 10% of Newegg deal a few days ago (NLA).

If you factor in CB for Lowe's, the Kobalt is about $30 cheaper if you go the delivery route; $15 cheaper if you do pickup. Plus the GCs were $30 off face. So for me, I spent about $60 less out of pocked as I wouldn't have wanted to drive somewhere to pick this up and stuff it in my car.

Similar specs between the two ... the biggest differences I can see are:

Kobalt is 6 Ah vs. 4 Ah + 2 Ah on Greenworks from Costco (which should essentially be a wash, I'd imagine).
Kobalt battery charges a bit slower (but it's also bigger).
No need for dual batteries to get the same runtime (which, all other things being equal, makes for a lighter Kobalt mower).
The Greenworks has a headlight (personally, I wouldn't use it -- just mentioning it for someone who might).
The Greenworks has a second blade if purchased from Costco.
Kobalt mower has 5 year warranty; 3 for the battery. Greenworks is 4 for the mower... and 4(?) for the battery?

Anybody have any experience with the Kobalt in case I just made a horrible mistake?

What is the Costco return policy on this mower? If the battery dies after two years, and I could not get hold from the mfg for warranty replacement, can I still return the mower to Costco?
