You will have to unlock it first to get it to work with VZW.
yes i know.
But my question still stands. I know a lot of unlocked phones have radio bands locked.

Is there a way to do this without needing an in-store appointment when picking the new number option??

Looking to make a switch from T-Mobile. This the best deal right now or is this geared more toward people looking to unlock phone and take elsewhere?
For me it's the latter but this is perhaps close to lowest price for S23.

Ah, no this one don't have band disabled and has all US bands so should work with VZW.

Unfortunately no. You have to go to store and I think most if not all stores are out of stock of these phones.

I wound up just getting that esim and a new number with Tello with their 100 minutes/no data monthly plan and set that to port over. And yeah, there were none in stock with stores in my area, so the esim method is probably the fastest way to get it done. Paid a bit extra to try to get it here by Wednesday to get those charges waived fast as possible, figured now's a good time to use my Bestbuy credits. Using the esim from an older phone to get it done heh.

If someone currently has an unlocked phone on a prepaid plan with another carrier and they want to keep their existing number, is this the correct procedure?

Purchase new phone one-time payment option
Select Do not currently have service with AT&T.
Select Transfer a Number
Transfer existing phone number
Receive phone
Change to AT&T Prepaid Plan

If so, what do you end up paying? Will you be charged the rest of the postpaid plan, then just chat with them to get the charges waived?

Thank you in advance for the help.

I'm reading the other thread linked here. Seems like they may have to call me to set up the pin#? Interesting. Hope I can get this all sorted out quickly.

I'm not sure how to convert postpaid to prepaid for ATT but steps you have should be the way to go. I'm not sure if you can just change plan from post paid to prepaid. You might have to create a new prepaid account and port the number to it thereby cancelling the account in the process. Someone else who has done this might be able to confirm.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. If one doesn't want to use any trick to unlock early, he/she would have to pay activation fee $35 plus 2 months of service. The lowest plan for 1 line is $51 (pls correct if I'm wrong). So the total for s23 would be $249 + tax on full retail + $35 + $102 (and some tax and fee). Two months of service is enough? just curious.

If you want to get the phone within 3 days and cancel I think you need to do the in store option.
