Beware: I've had 2 RMAs within a year. First for a faulty battery that wouldn't charge beyond 5% and a faulty keyboard. I do not recommend.

Asus ROG made me hate all Asus products. Too many issues, motherboard fried 2x in 2 years, heating problems, etc. I switched to Lenovo and its like night and day.

I know that this is a low price relative to its normal price, and that it's a very versatile and performant product for the money ....

... but it just plain HURTS to pay that kind of price tag for something with 16GB of RAM, regardless of the farkles it comes with. Frown

One of those "looks cool, but probably performs like crap and has issues" laptops.

Wait a generation or two on a product like this.

Not sure what's the target buyers are except just looking cool. It's not good as a table because it's thick and heavy. it might be ok as a portable gaming laptop, but we have Zephyrus 14inch with 4060 and it performs better and priced much cheaper.

This is actually the 2nd gen version of this tablet. The first was an i9-12000 series with a 3050.

Well, then you will be even more disappointed when you find out this in fact only has 16gb ram.

Because it's not a low price. You better have a very specific use case otherwise it's a terrible value. Wait few months and this will be much cheaper, especially with the flood of superior chips coming, competition is making this a great buyers market for first time in many years.

My biggest hangup is honestly the 16GB of RAM. Any heavy work, I'm going to have it plugged in. I easily saturate 16GB with my workload now, and you can feel the difference. You will pay more for touch screens and portability, but it's ridiculous to have such high end specs (like the CPU and GPU) paired with 16GB. This is clearly a product for creative professionals, but 16GB just won't be enough for the target audience. If you're a casual enough user that 16GB is enough, you'd be fine with a more casual, cheaper product.

Completely agree. Anyone that wants a configuration like this would benefit from 32gb. Higher end PC like this just shouldn't have 16gb anymore, unless it's priced right with this ain't.

Had the OG z13, and it was a good machine, but returned it because it was USB 2.0 and just not worth it for price I paid.

The form factor of this just didn't make sense to me. I was deciding and test driven both last year model of this vs the X13, which historically Z13 is always MSRP priced around 300 above X13 for nearly identical specs, although when they both go on sales they almost always end up at the same price (the x13 4060 is also 100 off for 1549 right now on BB, for example)

The X13 just makes more sense to me because it weights less (vs this combined with the keyboard cover. the weight listed is just the tablet alone), actually can be used as a laptop, and somehow is also a 2-in-1 convertible and also pen compatible. It just makes more sense because you can argue it's like a MacBook Air ultra light laptop that can still game very nicely with a dGPU, and it's a perfect balance for work/school and gaming.

The Z13 feels like a bulkier surface pro that games nicely, but I think as someone who have actually used surface pro in the past, the fact that you cannot use it on a lap will always be an inconvenience. And the same inconvenience is here for this thick tablet that is too heavy for a tablet, but form factor also doesn't make it a very good work/school laptop. And as a tablet is just a bit too heavy and also runs hot, with shitty battery although this is the same also for X13.

There are some other differences too obviously, such as X13 tends to throttle the GPU wattage more than the Z13 due to it being lighter, and it's something like a difference of 10 watt which isn't insignificant. But overall, while this product is a very cool concept, I could never get behind Z13. The X13 on the other hand I just absolutely love and use everyday.
