If anyone is trying to decide between the regular and executive membership, just know/remember you need to spend $3000 in store or online annually (with a few exclusions) for the executive membership to pay for itself/recoup the extra cost. Every dollar after that is profit.

And I believe you can get a refund if you decide halfway through that you definitely won't make it, just in case.

Their scan and go app is phenomenal though. Hate standing in line at Costco like a sucker. Their TP and paper towels are still cheaper than HEB, and better quality too. Bottled water is cheaper as well, if you need bottled water.

FYI for anyone who bit on the $20 card offer last week - no price match on membership promotional offers. I tried on chat with a representative earlier.

Whatever you say. The benefits are with the membership. Otherwise what would stop folks from buying a big ticket item, then cancelling their membership, then returning it years later.

Yes, limitations on how long to return certain items, like a tv. If they didn't allow returns or resulting in discretion when the membership is over, it would be stated. Stating otherwise without citation from Costco is just spreading misinformation.

Anyone know till when the deal is active? My membership expired Oct 31 2022. I believe Costco considers 18 month break as 'new' membership. Which means I ought to wait till 1st of next month. Wondering if this deal will still be valid.

It's a response to people lending cards to co-workers, etc. It is not trying to make policies and service worse.

It's been said that Costco only makes money on the memberships. I guess some analysts compared profit to membership revenue or something like that. So for every person using Costco, but not paying for the membership... well, the paying members are hurt by that. So recently, membership required at the food court. When they sell that hot dog and drink for $1.50, it is a member benefit. Too many non-members making the line long but not paying their dues.

Heck, Netflix recently came down like a ton of bricks on sharing. It's a sign of the times.
