I agree, but I suppose that's where quality and warranty length come into play.

I've found extruded to be easier than the roller kind. Doesn't take as long and because the dough is more crumbly you don't really need to "work with it" you just make little balls and throw them in the extruder. Only downside is you have to clean the extruder after which takes a few min… comes with a metal pick though to make it easier
I also have found you can pop the end plates apart pretty easy to clean it out fully

The roller type attachment has a lot of complaints about pasta getting stock inside the roller and you are not supposed to wash it with water. Is this easier to clean?
Should be fun to do as a family.
Still, I'm tempted. I made fresh pasta last night for the first time in forever and, dang, it's just so good. I got in on the 20# of Bob's 00 for $16 shipped a couple weeks ago and used my food processor to prep the dough. Requires thinking ahead to let the dough rest, and it's a lot of clean up for a little meal (just two of us).
