Not many devices support wifi 7 yet, but I'm typing this on a Google Pixel 8 pro which does.
Yes, as a commenter above pointed out the wifi 7 has short range. That's how wifi works. Wifi 7 is only faster than 5/6 if I'm in the same room (tested with my phone).
Routers can and will receive firmware updates as needed if the specifications for wifi 7 change. The hardware necessary for wifi 7 either exists inside the router or it doesn't. So skeptical about the suggestion to wait in regards to quality or performance, although the price will surely come down as more wifi 7 routers become available.

1) You are paying the early adopter fees.
2) Very few clients support Wifi 7.
3) Larger footprint and power draw compared to 6/6E riders since they need to accommodate larger channel widths
4) Speed benefits over Wifi 6E are only going to be effective if you already have multi gig internet which very few people have since majority of households still get internet with cable.
I have an old hp officejet pro 8600 that uses the cheap third party ink. Its reliable and works but refuses to work on my ASUS WiFi 6 router. So I have it set as a AC router and everything works good and we have no problems not using WiFi 6 around here. I will gladly forgo WiFi 6 as long as that printer keeps working and I don't have to deal with HPs barbaric printer ink moneygrab scam business model lol

All I'm saying is, if your gonna go WiFi 7, be sure all of the devices are WiFi 6 or WiFi 7 so they can take advantage of the features and try not to use ancient WiFi standards with the new ones
