For what it's worth, I tried every laptop's keyboard in Costco, and this was by far the best. (Yes, much, much, much better than any other Windows or Apple laptop.)

The big negative is the antiquated port selection:
- Only one Thunderbolt and it doesn't support charging (according to Copilot). That's pretty weak in 2023.
- The HDMI port only supports 4K at 30 fps... (That's WTF territory.)

It's a hard pass for me as I want to be able to drive two external screens at 4K 60Hz with a dock and I want to be able to use my PD charger when I travel. Much cheaper laptops can do both of those things.

It's puzzling why Lenovo still insists on an antiquated charging port in 2023 and even on the new 2024 version of this laptop.
Otherwise looks like a great laptop.

Thank you for that kind compliment.
The Asus Zephryus G14 with the 4060 fits that description quite nicely. It has been posted here for $999 a few times. Right now, it's $1199 at best buy. I'd suggest to wait a week or two if you can, I'm sure it's gonna touch $1K again.
The other option you have is the Legion Slim 5 with the 14.5" OLED display and 4060. It's been $1049 as the lowest quite a few times. Again, I'd say to wait for a few weeks and that deal should come around again.

Mini-LED vs. OLED, which is better? Also is the screen glossy or anti-reflective?

The HDMI port only supports 4K at 30 fps....... This is insane. I took it for granted that this will not be the case. Need to put decent output to big screen. Disappointment, was ready to buy... why, why, why....

Mini-LED for productivity or media creation, OLED for gaming or media consumption.

Is all this info from CoPilot?

Because the specs of both the TB port and HDMI 2.0 port are pretty stringent in that the HDMI 2.0 can support 4k60hz and the TB port can be used to charge. I doubt it can charge while using the GPU though.

Maybe this will help some:

this, so much this. I bought this a while back in the last ebay deal, I absolutely LOVED the machine, LOVED IT. but the fact that I couldn't charge it with the dozens of usb c stations I have scattered through the house, including the one cable I have for docking to my monitor at my standing desk, meant I had to lug their stupid proprietary cable around the house.

f that. there is NO REASON for this to happen today, so I sent it back. this might not be important to you, but it was important enough to me to ditch the best laptop I've ever used! shame on lenovo for this.

Would even lug a cable around for a great laptop, but 30hz output in 2024? So unfortunate.... Maybe this is a reason why it is selling with this price? So bad and sad, hoped to buy it, now need to wait for something similar... Great speakers, great screen, great keyboard.... But 30hz?

Seems like a great price for the specs? I'm constantly searching for best laptops for heavy excel work, so usually I just need a nice laptop with good memory (32gb plus) and super fast processor. If I price a similar one on their page its like 2.5k to 4k? Are there other laptops I should be looking at?

If it's suppose to be a hobbist 'workstation' I'm sure they were planning for presentations through the HDMI, not high quality cinematic experiences.

Totally. I travel a lot. I carry two PD chargers. I won't carry an additional proprietary brick for no reason. Lenovo should utilize the space of their proprietary charging port and give us another Thunderbolt 4.0 port. Much smaller and cheaper laptops come with two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports in 2023/2024.

Still look like they cut costs where there is no need for it. They lost the customer. Laptop seem to be too good just for a workstation.

How do higher-end laptops get released these days with only a single USB-C port?

FWIW, the spec sheet says it can support 8k@60hz over the Thunderbolt port. Only HDMI is listed at 4k@30hz. I have to be suspicious of that though. I could see it being limited to 30hz on integrated graphics, but switching to the Nvidia GPU should easily allow 4k@60 or even 4k@120hz. Does someone have one they can test?
I have put hands on this laptop at Costco, and must say I really like it.

Does anyone know if I can use a stylus with one of these? I'm thinking about using one to take notes and carry when I travel for work but I'm having trouble finding any information about it, thanks
