Dumb question, but since this is clearly a carcamping or backyard bag, why not just get a regular bag and ADD the weighed blanket you already own?

No, usually it's not a comfortable material, but you could get a sleeping pad that weighs much less than this. If you don't want a weighted blanket you don't want this.
