Performance bike is still around?
They went out of business but this company purchased the Nashbar and Performance name. I do miss the original Nashbar.

Not the one you remember. It was purchased and it's pretty much just a domain front for a different company.

These are going for $90 off eBay for the standard version.. and from very reputable sellers. I got the +4mm version off Amazon for $120.
Do you want to name one of those reputable sellers? I'd buy these off Performance Bicycle vs almost anyone on eBay due to the proliferation of fakes on eBay. Part of the problem is that Shimano (like Garmin) often requires a minimum retail price, and big discounts are hard to come by. So, these eBay sellers, even if they don't intend to sell counterfeits, end up getting duped from their own suppliers. I'm assuming a large bike pats company like Performance Bicycle is probably buying directly from Shimano's USA distributor.

I believe Ultegra pedals are still made in Japan, correct? Did you actually order pedals off of eBay? Do they say Made in Japan? As an aside, the genuine Shimano cleats are selling for about $30, now. So, $109 for Ultegra pedals is like paying only $79 for both pedals, or less than $40 per pedal. That's a great price from a reputable seller.

back then, I called performance bike when I was new to biking. I must've asked more questions than they wanted to answer. they put notes on my account. after that, anytime I'd call in, I'd get a Karen giving me the worse CS ever. I guess they got what they wanted. Its now 15 years later, I make 10x what I used to make, and spend that much more, and they don't get any of my money.

My situation with priority bicycles. They got annoyed because I asked too many questions

Ah that sucks. For what it's worth they've been very patient for my many questions via email!

Mine arrived today.
Of note, you need a hex key to install, they do not have the detents for a pedal wrench.

So you guys were right.. turns out the $90 pair I got off eBay were indeed fakes. I will be returning them and have already back-ordered the genuine set from Performance Bikes advertised here. For anyone else concerned about fakes, I found out how to determine a fake from watching this YouTube video:

That said the $120 +4mm pair I got from Amazon are indeed legit. And passed all the above tests! They are sold by the Amazon UK store. Here is the link for anyone looking for the +4mm version: https://www.amazon.com/SHIMANO-PD...07216BYS2/

This is the old AMain cycling website and store. Legit, they carry tons of hard to find oem parts.

These came in just a few days, despite the backorder status. I bought them because my 105 Shimano Road pedals are not compatible with Favero Assioma DUO-Shi Axis With Power Meter (power measuring replacement axels).
